A/N: Just a bit of Faberry fluff! Title from 'Big Yellow Taxi' by Joni Mitchell. Drabble was inspired by a picture of a taxi. Please read and review! I'm quite new at this and could use some advice :) Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I don't own Glee :(
Quinn had never been in a cab before. And she didn't really want to be in one either. She was late and lost in New York City, though. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
"Taxi!" Quinn yelled. No luck. The bright yellow cab zoomed right past her.
Quinn felt herself getting angry. She hated New York. She hated the grime, the smell, and most of all the people. Quinn couldn't understand why anyone in their right mind would want to live here. Ironically enough though, the love of her life lived here and loved it.
Quinn didn't understand how Rachel could stand to live here. Yes, there was Broadway and performing and all her dreams, but the city itself was absolutely disgusting. There was garbage piling off the streets and the people here were so rude it was mindboggling.
Minute by minute, Quinn was getting more annoyed. It appeared that every single cab in New York City was trying to ignore her.
"TAXI!" she roared. Rachel had always told Quinn that she reminded her of a lion when she was mad. Well, Quinn was fuming. Especially, now that she was late for Rachel Berry's debut performance on Broadway.
The cab came to a striking halt and Quinn jumped into it before anyone else could take it from her.
Quinn told the driver the address and he grunted. Quinn rolled her eyes. The people here were so rude. Sometimes Quinn wished Rachel had different dreams. It would make things a lot more convenient.
Quinn sighed, she was being selfish again. Rachel has worked so hard to get here. Quinn sometimes felt that Rachel was better off without her. That Quinn was holding her down. Quinn had told Rachel that and it put a rock in their relationship. Quinn hadn't seen Rachel in a while and was nervous to say the least.
Quinn had to stop thinking. Overthinking was one of Quinn's flaws. Rachel hated it. So Quinn decided to check her phone. One new voice mail. Great, it was Rachel, probably freaking out about how she wasn't there yet. And Quinn thought this day couldn't get any worse.
Quinn pressed play and awaited her impending doom.
"Hey Q! I don't know if you're here yet but that doesn't matter. I know that you don't like New York all that much so it means a lot to me that you're here. I still find it unbelievable that you, Quinn Fabray, would take time out of their day for me, Rachel Berry. The idea itself seems ludicrous. Quinn… I called you because I wanted you to know something. I know things have been shaky lately, but there is one thing I want you to know. You don't bring me down. You know what you do? You make me shine. The only reason that I'm a star is because of you. I know you like to think otherwise but you shouldn't. When I'm down you raise me up; when I'm dull you make me shiny. Quinn, to simply put it, you're my dream come true. I don't need my name in lights, or fame and fortune to be happy; I need you. You're my star and I'm yours. We are aligned and we are perfect. "
The phone beeped and the message was over. Quinn's eyes were brimmed with tears. Rachel was right. They were the most when they were with each other. Quinn needed Rachel and Rachel needed Quinn. Their stars were aligned for a reason.
Just as Quinn was thinking about plans for the future the cab driver snapped her back into reality.
"Hey lady, are you alright?" the driver asked nosily.
"I'm fine, thank you. Now can you drive a little faster please? I'm late for a very important date." Quinn barked.
Hey, maybe being a New Yorker wouldn't be so hard after all.
