"Welcome to Death City, passengers! We will be landing in a few minutes, so sit tight until we arrive."
I fidgeted in my seat. I had been sitting there for the past six hours, and the annoying plane had no TVs. Ugh. I hope I get off soon, I thought. I my back slid down the rough fabric.
All of a sudden, I felt the plane bumping on the ground. I began to feel excited. Then, the plane stopped. Immediately grabbing my things, I rushed out of the plane.
I checked out of the airport, (which definitely took too long. Lines. Ugh) and ran out to catch a taxi, which didn't go so well.
"Ow!" I yelled after falling on the floor.
My vision was going crazy for a bit, and my head really hurt. I saw a blob in front of me, though.
"Dude, that wasn't cool," the blob spoke.
"Huh?" I asked.
My vision suddenly cleared, and I saw that the blob was actually a boy with really spiky white hair. He looked about 14, and had a creepy kind of aura about him.
"What happened?" I asked, standing up.
The boy stood up too.
"You bumped into me," he said, sounding annoyed.
We were silent for a few moments.
"OH! I am really sorry. I am in a big rush. I'm transferring to a new school today… Oh… I'm rambling. Sorry."
"It's fine," he said, and walked away.
I stood there for a while. What a weird guy, I thought.
"MAAAAAAKAAAAAA!" I heard a voice scream.
This was bad. My dad was coming. I saw him and his shoulder – length red hair running towards me. My dad and my mom divorced a while ago, and my dad has been acting strangely ever since.
He stopped running, and looked at me with big puppy – dog eyes. I rolled my eyes.
"YOU LEFT ME ALL ALONE!" He cried.
"Ugh," I said.
"You know, Maka, a lot of people would want to be around a Death Scythe like me."
"Ugh," I repeated.
Yes, I knew that my father was a Death Scythe. All thanks to my mom, anyway.
My dad grabbed my hand and called a taxi over. And, now I knew that all of the kids at Death Weapon Meister Academy would think of me as the girl who can't leave her dad. Great.
