James couldn't think of a worse way to start the day off. Today was the day he had to break a girl's heart. It was difficult having to choose between the two of them, between Yinsen and Bucky. Both were beautiful and unique in a way the other could not compare. Yinsen was what his old-timer of a father would call a "spitfire". Her attitude and personality were as fiery as her straight, choppy locks. She never let him get away with anything; she was always to quick to point out his faults and he loved her for it. He loved many things about Yinsen actually. He loved the little lines between her eyebrows that formed when she was thinking, and all the red freckles that spotted her tan face; he'd never realized how much he loved freckles until Yinsen came along. He loved when she paced around, running her slim fingers through her hair as she worked on her newest stroke of engineering genius. He loved that she needed him to protect her; Yinsen was most certainly the more fragile of the two, so James took care of her. She was slim and petite, but not in the same way Bucky was. James loved that they weren't the same, that would make this even harder. If Yinsen was a spifire than Bucky was a little darling. Bucky was gentle in a way Yinsen could née manage. Her face carried a gentle, loving expression and her lips were soft and gently curved while Yinsen's were bitten and dry. Bucky had soft black curls that tumbled down her back and vibrant blue eyes that laughed when she did. Although Bucky was the more girlish of the two she had a silent strength about her that made you want to approach her. Her confidence and self-assurance mad her all the more beautiful. She was graceful and femininely muscled from years of gymnastics. They worked so very well together, like their parents had before them. It was impossible to find a sidekick as perfect as Bucky. Both girls had their faults of course. Bucky bit her nails, a nervous tick she'd had since she was a child. Yinsen's nails were perfectly manicured and painted no matter what. Yinsen was a know-it-all, always quick to correct you. Bucky wasn't nearly as genius as Yinsen, but she was quick to laugh and always held a smile. In James' eyes the two were perfect and it seemed wrong to have to choose. Did he choose the red haired, spitfire engineer or the black haired, gentle soldier? It was like comparing winter and summer, night and day; it wasn't fair to either of them, or him. He had to choose. Bucky would be sleeping alone tonight.
