The Twelve Days of Christmas

On the first day of Christmas Hatake Kakashi gave me... a partridge in a pear tree. Yep, talk about true love here, the man gave me a bird in a tree.

Oh well, the pears should be good when the tree grows up.

On the second day of Christmas he gave me two turtle doves. Why are they called 'turtle' doves? They don't look like a turtle, they're birds. End of story.

On the third day of Christmas Kakashi gave me three French Hens. I was beginning to see a pattern here. Remember that Christmas carol 'Twelve days of Christmas'? Well, it seemed he was going to give all the presents in that stupid song.

So, I wasn't that surprised on the fourth day of Christmas to open my door and find four calling birds on my porch. Four. Calling. Birds. Do you know how loud one calling bird is? And I had four. Plus the three hens, two doves and one vain partridge. Thats ten birds. Ten loud birds. It was beginning to sound like a zoo in my house.

On the fith day of Christmas I was happily surprised to find five golden rings on my dresser when I woke up. I called him later that day to thank him for the rings, and beg him not to give me any more birds.

He didn't listen. On the sixth day of Christmas my true love gave too me six geese a laying. I was starting to hate the person who wrote the insane song. Honestly, who would want six laying geese? And man do they lay! I have enough eggs to keep Konoha supplied for months. It'll be great if the village ever goes under siege.

I now had sixteen birds. But that didn't stop Kakashi from giving me seven more. So, it was on the seventh day of Christmas my mentally unstable love gave me seven swans.

Twenty three birds is two much for anyone to handle, so I let them loose in the woods later that day. But I kept the partridge, she had kinda grown on me, and I gave the doves to Hinata.

As I was walking home from Hyuuga's complex, I wondered how Kakashi was going to do the next part of the song, which was supposed to be eight maids a milking. I hoped he wouldn't opt to give me eight cows.

It actually wasn't that bad, he gave me eight kunai's instead, trying to get back into my good graces, I suppose.

On the ninth day he gave me nine parakeets. That was really random, and I seriously wondered if he had hit his head or something. But, the partridge (I named her Jezebel) didn't like the parakeets, and they where noisier than the other twenty three birds, but I couldn't let them loose in the woods, so I gave them away.

On the tenth day the song calls for ten Lords a leaping, but, thankfully, he gave me ten leaping frogs instead, with a note saying there names where 'Lord' something or another. I took them back to the fishing pond later that day though, I felt sorry for them being out of the water that long.

The eleventh day of Christmas was the best. I had by then accepted my fate as the brunt of Kakashi's antics, and was wondering what he was going to do about the eleven pipers piping, when I opened the door to find a ring in a box, and a note with four words on it, (there where also eleven pipes for smoking, but I gave them to Jiraiya).

While the eleventh day was the best, the twelfth was my favorite. It was my turn to give him something, and the song foreshadows twelve drummers drumming, but the only thing I could think of to give him was a good sound beating with a drumstick.

But, I kissed him on the lips afterward and told him that I would love to be the future Mrs. Hatake.

Yay!!! I got this up before Christmas!!!

and, yes, I am still working on 'Fanfiction Moments'...I just...wrote this instead of the next chapter...hehe...
