Hey! This is my first attempt at writing fanfiction, and I hope it's not too pathetic. It's a jily fic, cause if someone asked me to describe a perfect couple, it would be them. Hope you like this! xx

Lily Evans expected Hogwarts to be wonderful, full of surprises, out-of-this-world-amazing and obviously, very magical. What she didn't expect was that it would be overwhelmingly huge and how easy it would be to get lost here.

She realised this while trying to get to her first lesson of the day , which just happened to be taught by her head of house, Professor McGonagall. She seemed like a woman no one should ever cross, unless they had a death wish. This was one of the reasons she didn't want to be late on her first class. First impressions matter, after all. At least, that's what Lily thought.

But now here she was, standing in front of a portrait of Helga Hufflepuff, and she realised that she was hopelessly lost. She was starting to panic, as the class started in 15 minuets and she had no idea how she would ever reach the transfiguration classroom.

After 10 more minutes of aimless wandering, she was starting to hyperventilate. What if no one ever found her? It was only the first day and she got along well with Mary and Marlene but her only friend yet was Severus and she couldn't see how he would find her and her mother and father would be so upset, what if she actually never found her way and-

"Evans ?"

Lily, so immersed in her thoughts, hadn't noticed the certain dark haired boy walking towards her. She recognised him from the train- his name was Potter, and she thought he was a right prat.

However, she was so glad to finally see someone she recognised, she refused to acknowledge his behaviour on the train yesterday and ran upto him and surprised both of them by throwing her arms around him-which caused James to loose his footing, and both of them fell on the cold, stone floor.

" Potter! I cant tell you how glad i am to see you! Please tell me you know the way or else we better start thinking about something else cause-"

"Hold your hippogriffs Evans, i know the way." He said, getting up and offering her a hand. She stared at him for a minute, then took his hand and hauled herself up, blushing slightly.

"Thanks, Potter. You can lead the way." She muttered, avoiding his gaze.

"James." He said suddenly.

"What?"

"My name is James. You can call me James." He said, his cheeks pink.

Smiling at him , she said " and you can call me Lily, James."

He grinned at her, ruffling his hair.

As they walked down the corridors, Lily Evans realised that her first impression of James Potter was completely, utterly wrong.
