Nightmares
She watched as the Elements of Harmony fell one by one. Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy, and worst of all, Twilight Sparkle. She laughed as the girl bled out and fell. She laughed maniacally for what seemed like an hour. Luna laughed and laughed and then started to cry. She fell to her knees and sobbed, looking over what she had just done. Her best friend was dead. They were all dead. Even her beloved sister was dead and buried. She lied down on her side and curled up and wept and screamed.
Luna opened her eyes.
She was in her bed, drenched in sweat and had cold tears running down her face. Her shades were blowing in the warm breeze. Celestia opened the huge door. "Luna! Are you alright? I heard screaming! What happened?!" Luna breathed heavily, trying to fathom what was happening. "…Luna?" The blue haired princess shook her head.
"I… I am alright, sister. It was… I was just having a nightmare about…" Luna's voice began to tremble. She started to cry. Celestia walked over as two guards rushed in. "Is the princess alright?!"
"We're fine. Go back to your post." Celestia said calmly. The guards closed the door and walked away. She sat down on the bed next to her weeping sister. Luna hugged Celestia. Celestia hugged her back. "I- I'm so sorry, sister! I didn't mean to… Nightmare Moon and the Elements and the… with the moon and the night and… and… and…"
"Shh, Shh, Shh… It's all right, Luna. I already told you, I forgive you. Everybody does. You didn't mean for any of it to happen. It wasn't your fault."
"… then why do I still have nightmares?"
Celestia pulled away and put her hands on her younger sister's shoulders. "It was a scary thing, Luna. Nobody should have to go through that. Plus, I should be the one apologizing. And… all those years ago… sending you to the moon was the last thing I wanted to do. I know it was a traumatic thing… and I'm sorry." The two sisters embraced again.
Luna looked up at her sister. "Sister?"
"Hmm?"
"I love you…"
"I love you too, Luna."
