What's in the past, stays in the past

It was time for RAW and we heard the Heartbreak Kid's music. We hear a lot of mixed reactions. You see, RAW is in the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec. Yes, that's right. That's where the Montreal screw job happened. Everyone has either gotten over it and moved on or hasn't forgotten and are harboring resentment towards anyone except for, of course...Bret "the Hitman" Hart. Shawn Mcihaels came into the ring. He wasn't dressed in his usual wrestling gear. He was dressed in a suit and he had a serious and determined look on his face.

Shawn: Listen, I know why you guys are booing me. I deserve it. The last time I was here, I fooled you guys into thinking bret hart was actually here. I am sorry for that. But I do want to discuss the "Montreal Screw job." I wanted to come out here today to apologize to the person who was screwed and he didn't even know about it. You see, the screw job was Vince's idea that at the end of the night, I would become champion. Gerald Brisco came over to my hotel room and showed me how to defend myself against Bret Hart. The plan that night was for me lock in the sharpshooter and Hart would reverse and D-X and the Hart Foundation would run down and get into a big brawl and that would end the match. But Vince was backstage and he was determined to make me the champion. I tried to talk to him about telling Bret but he declined and said "I already told Bret. Don't worry" Well judging from Bret's reaction, Vince didn't tell him. Bret, I want to formally apologize to you. I know that we haven't been on good terms since then..or even before then but I want to say to you I am sorry for everything that I caused. To say that, I hope that we can become friends out of this.

All of a sudden, Bret Hart's music blasted into the arena. Shawn looked up and there was Bret Hart himself, walking down the ramp. He entered the ring and got a microphone.

Shawn: What are you doing here?

Bret: Listen, Shawn, I want to thank you for coming out here and being very public with your apology. I accept your apology but I want to apologize myself. I want to apologize because I treated you like shit backstage and on air and I was very upset that day and didn't just talk to you about it. Now that we're older and more mature, I think we can put this whole thing behind us and become friends.

Shawn: Really?

Bret: Yeah.

They leave the ring not only as veterans of the business but now as friends.
