She waited in the rain for him.
It trickled down the bridge that formed her nose to drip onto her lips.
It raced across her cheeks, blending in with the hopeless tears that came from a different source.
He wasn't coming.
And in her heart somewhere she knew that he never would come.
She had known all those years ago when she was forcefully bonded to another that he wouldn't come for her.
He couldn't.
A man who gave his life to fighting would die fighting.
So she would never see him again.
He had tried to free her so she would never be stuck again, but he unintentionally bound her heart to him.
And when he disappeared she had lost her heart.
It had been seven years, and she still waited for the man that never would come.
And the hopeless tears blended with the rain that raced down her cheeks.
The rain seemed to whisper to her.
Remind her of who she was.
The rain spoke his voice as it struck her shoulders.
