It was not a surprise to hear the familiar buzzing sound near his ear. He knew who it was always; Baby Tooth decided to visit him. Not that he minded, Jack liked having someone to hang out with, even if it was only for an instant. The little Tooth Fairies were tasked to collect fallen teeth from the children of the world every night. It was a never-ending duty their fairy must achieve.
Jack turned to see the tiny fairy hovering close to him. Baby Tooth started excitedly chirping as Jack chuckled.
"Calm down Baby Tooth, don't you have some more teeth you have to collect? I'm sure Tooth would be kinda upset if she thought, I was the one distracting you," Jack explained as the fairy's chirp increased in volume and pitch.
"You're done already! Wow someone wanted to see me tonight," he joked.
Jack didn't notice the slight blush on Baby Tooth's face. Similar to her mother and sisters, Baby Tooth had a small crush on Jack Frost, the Guardian of Fun. It was a collective response. All the tooth fairies are connected by a mystical bond, a bond where intense emotions are shared among them. Such as their infatuation with Jack.
Baby Tooth was the fairy that acting out on her crush the most compared to her sisters. Baby learned Jack's schedule. She knew where he would most likely be at any the given month. Baby would even trade shifts with her sisters to see the Guardian of Fun. Whenever Baby did see Jack, she could swear she saw the slight twinkle in his eyes when he saw her.
"So what do you want to do?"
Jack already knew the answer to that question. It was always the same, to do whatever Jack wanted to do. Baby took a seat on Jack's shoulder as he took off into the night sky.
Baby Tooth hates for Jack to be alone. Jack was alone for nearly 300 years. To think, poor Jake had no one to talk to, wishing desperately that someone, anyone would notice him. Now, Jack wasn't alone. Children can see Jack now thanks to Jamie. Jack was a member of the Guardians, and he had Baby Tooth to keep him company. That's what Baby would remind herself.
However, now that Jack Frost was becoming popular among the children. That created a new problem, The Lake. North advised Jack to find a new home for himself. Now that children can see him it would be unsafe for him to stay by The Lake. A child might try to skate on The Lake before it froze over. No one wanted another tragic death to happen. Baby Tooth chirped a bit and got a deep sigh from the Guardian of Fun.
"I don't have an idea where I want to move. I was thinking maybe the South Pole. You know how everyone has their own hideout. North has the North Pole, Tooth has the Amazon, Bunny has Earth's crust, Sandy has the clouds, heck even The Man On The Moon has the moon all to himself!" he explained
Baby could see the reasoning behind that. It was the truth. Every Guardian had their own home base. Except, their home bases were isolated from the Human World. It would be nearly impossible for a human to come across their location. Jack's home was too easy to find. It makes sense before he became a Guardian when no one knew who or what he was.
Baby couldn't say she liked the idea of Jack living in the South Pole. The last time they were in the South Pole, Pitch attempted to kill the both of them. Jack wasn't the type to holding grudges towards it, so who was she to say comment on his chance?
"Yea, I'm pretty sure I can make the Pole feel like home. I can even play with the penguins" he laughed. Baby Tooth chirped trying to remind him that they were not his pets.
"Yea yea," Jack chuckled.
"I thought I could make an ice sculpture or something. Just don't know of what," Jack muttered Baby Tooth looked at the Guardian.
She felt a ting of pity for Jack. There would be no children in the South Pole. No one for Jack to play tricks and games with. There would be no reason, for her to fly over to the South Pole, there were no teeth to collect. 'I wish I could do something for Jack…' she prayed as she listened to Jack rambling on about possible ideas for the home base.
'I wish I could do something for Jack…' appeared on a computer screen. An angel, who appeared no older than five years jumped out of their seat. They downloaded the video onto a round glass sphere. The angel quickly walked out of the Hall of Wishes. They make a trip down a long entangle golden hallway towards headquarters. On the plank on the doorway were large golden letters that read 'Verdict.' They pushed open the room to see Angels that appeared much older than the toddler-sized one.
There were four older Angels in the room — each overlooking a monitor and clicking through live footage from Earth. Seated behind the four Angels was a giant woman. The woman was sitting on a white throne her long gown training on the floor. The woman had long silvery hair that reached her shoulders. The giant woman was smiling at the screen what the little angel could only guess as footage of a life-changing wish being granted. Those were always her favorite ones to watch.
The giant woman seated on the throne was The Evening Star. Her duties are to grant wishes, the Guardians of Miracles — an ancient Guardian that was as old as The Man On The Moon. The Evening Star was called for the role. She loves seeing the marvel of human's eyes when a wish came true. Though, it was a rarity for the Evening Star to grant a wish. Only the wishes The Evening Star deemed acceptable were ever allowed. The Evening Star was sure to explain to her angels that just a wish made with the purest intentions should ever be presented to her. Although the Evening Star knew everyone's wishes both past and present. She preferred if two minds believe the wish was worth granting. There are many wishes made every second of the day and night. If she were to grant all of the Earth would surely be in disarray.
The Evening Star noticed the little angel holding the glowing sphere in their hands. The Evening Star jested for the angel to place the sphere into the reader. The angel did just that and watched as the Tooth Fairy's image appeared on the screen.
'I wish I could do something for Jack…'
"Well this indeed is an interesting one…" she mused as her angel looked onto her waiting for her decision.
This wish by far one of the purest wishes the Evening Star had ever heard. Although not the most specific wish she had ever heard. The Evening Star knew it was one of Tooth Fairy's fairies. This wish was indeed a tricky yet very interesting wish. The Evening Star didn't want to step on anyone's toes much less a guardian's reign. She's done it a few times, North welcomes it and believes it makes sense with miracles also create wonder. The Easter Bunny believe it raised people in other children. The Tooth Fairy wasn't too pleased but learned to let The Evening Star work when she needed to. The Evening Star looked at her own angel. The angel's golden eyes locked on the screen at the video looped for the tenth time.
"Well…she wants Jack Frost to have someone stay by his side," The Evening Star muttered as she put a hand on her chin. "Baby Tooth as she is currently known. Is always spending her free time with Jack," The Evening Star muttered to herself.
However, now that The Evening Star remembered in the past Jack would make many wishes to her. Sadly, she had to ignore all of Jack's wishes. The Man On The Moon had big ideas for Jack Frost, and the Guardian did just that if not more. Maybe this wish could answer all his previous woes.
"Alright, I've made my verdict," The Evening Star announced as the other angels stopped what they were doing to gaze at their mother.
"I shall grant Baby Tooth's wish,"
A/N: Back in the olden days, I watched a movie that I enjoyed. Then life happened, and mental illness came and took parts of my interest always from me. I'm attempting to start and finish these wonderful stories my mind creates. I love all my ideas, but they all need a massive redo. I'll be focusing on this Story first because winter is afoot and I miss Jack Frost and Baby Tooth too much. Happy Holiday my friends and have an enjoy and prosperous New Year.
Sincerely, Serenity.
