Finally made my first one-shot! Hope you like this, and don't forget to review! :3

"You should sleep, Luce," Natsu Dragneel adviced, still fully alert even if it's already one in the morning. "I can see that any moment now, you'll be knocked out."

"I...I can't," Lucy replied, eyes bloodshot. "I still couldn't get this formula. I still have to memorize it, Natsu."

"You're such a perfectionist." Natsu grumbled.

"You should take care of yourself, you know?"

Lucy simply rolled her eyes at this. "Why don't you sleep? Don't you just feel sleepy?"

Natsu shook his head, "Nah, I have insomnia."

She frowned at this discovery. "Then why not put it into good use by trying to memorize all the formulas for our test tomorrow?"

"They're...they're too complicated!" Natsu reasoned out, sighing. "Why does our Calculus teacher have to make everything do goddamned hard?!"

"You can always drop the subject," Lucy jokingly said with a small voice. She slightly slapped herself when her eyelids felt heavy.

Natsu placed her chin on the coffee table, amuse at the sight of his roommate trying to stay awake for the sake of her studies.

"Believe me; I considered it but found out that I couldn't graduate if I dropped it. Man, I thought highschool is hard, but college was a hundred more times harder!"

"Mhm," Lucy replied with a sound. For a second, Natsu thought that the blonde had already fallen asleep, but found out that she's still somehow awake when he stole a glance at her.

"I'll...I'll make some coffee," He announced. He stood up from his seat and headed to the kitchen where the ingredients he needed are placed on the table. At first, he was confused on why they weren't placed on their respective places but soon knew the answer when he saw his blonde bestfriend's blue mug designed with yellow stars placed on the sink, unwash.

"I thought you were a perfectionist," He silently mumbled, chuckling as he went to the sink to wash the coffee-stained mug. As soon as the mug is clean, free of any trace that it was once used to contain coffee, he placed it on the table where ingredients neccessary are placed. He proceeded on making the coffee.

Natsu smiled as he remembered how Lucy reprimanded him back in their freshman year when he had accidentally destroyed their coffee maker. He was really immature back then, as he had lived all his life spoiled by his parents. If it weren't fir his best friend, Lucy Heartfilia, he wouldn't have survived the first year in college and probably, didn't know how to operate a goddamned coffee maker.

Lucy was the one who changed him. He hopes he could pay her back in some ways.

"Done," He smiled triumphantly as he finished the coffee. He placed the mixed liquid to the mug, humming a tone gis mother used to sang before she died. It may sound childish, but that's the only way he can preserve his mother's memories without breaking down.

Holding the blue mug, he went back to their shared room where Natsu found Lucy's head drop on the book she was once reading.

"She fell asleep…" He looked at the mug he was holding and sighed as he made his way to the sleeping blonde. He went a little too close to her and he bet that if she awoke and saw how close their faces were, she would give him her hellish kick called 'Lucy Kick'.

"Wake up," He mumbled close to her ears as he placed the mug on the table. Her eyebrows and lips twitched in discomfort, making him chortle in amusement.

He spent a minute or two staring at the sleeping blonde, a peaceful smile on his face. She's beautiful. With her long blonde locks; perfect ivory skin; and her turned up nose.

In heaven, God made angels' hair silver; In earth, blonde.

He grinned at the thought. He tucked a stray blonde hair on her ear, onyx eyes sparkling. With his eyes closed, he placed a chaste kiss on her forehead, smile reaching the stars above.

"Goodnight, Luce."
