Spoilers up to Shiva.
„I want to kill somebody, " She says, just like that. No emotions in her voice, but her eyes give away the fire she feels running through her veins.
„Don't do that, " His voice is just as emotionless.
When she doesn't answer he goes on. „Why somebody? You know who did it, you found the connection. I know you have eyes on him. " He thinks for a moment. „Not necessarily legal eyes, but you know what I mean. You won't go to jail for checking up on him, "
„I would not be locked up if I killed him, " She says, with a certainty in her voice that really shocks him. Almost indifferently.
He nods. What is he supposed to say to that?
The two of them are sitting facing each other in a small café a few blocks from the navy yard. She's staring out the window, he's staring in her eyes. It's Friday evening and neither of them wants to think about what this means. They are off rotation for the next two days, Gibbs sent them home. And still, the two of them are together. It is way too late to drink coffee if you wanted to sleep well that night. Neither cares. As long as they can sip on their coffees they don't have to go home to their lonely apartments.
She pushes her cup away from her body. "We should go, it's getting late." That's a shocker for him. She is almost never the one to end their nights, he likes to think it's because she enjoys his company as much as he enjoys hers. Usually it's one of the waitresses who ushers them out.
"You sure you're ok?" She is already getting up and reaching for her jacket when she registers his question. She sits back down.
TBC – though I'm not sure I will. Let me know if you want me to (:
