A/N: I swear one day I will stop coming up with really stupid Redilio AUs but today is the very opposite of that day. As a side note, my last story that I wrote for my drabble series got a lot of really positive feedback and I just really wanted to thank all you guys for being beautiful and perfect creatures. I also want everyone to know that People Round Here is NOT on hiatus. I'm just being a lazy sack of garbage and ignoring it because I'm a terrible mother. In this timeline, Edilio doesn't know Roger's alive.

I don't even own a home. What makes you think I own Gone?,

When la migra came, Edilio had seen it coming. Part of him had hoped that he would be granted some sort of "hero's pardon" and be allowed to stay in the country. He hoped, but he didn't expect. Edilio knew that the American Government had no tolerance for illegal immigrants, no matter how many lives they had saved. What he didn't expect was how quickly it all happened.

In the end, a broken tail light was the deciding factor in Edilio's happiness.

It was just his luck, really, that they'd been pulled over by two of the most racist cops in all of California. They recognised him immediately, and instead of fawning all over him or thanking him for his duties, they asked for his father's ID. And just like that, he was on a boat on his way back to Honduras, away from his life and his friends and all his hopes for a better life.

Edilio had no idea how he, a short, thin, peaceful, gay and obviously emotionally fragile boy from America could possibly survive in a place like Honduras.

But, then again, he'd survived worse.

Okay, this is relatively short, but I just kind of wanted to sort of get the timeline into perspective. Plot starts happening next chapter.
