Todd's still unconscious and Viola doesn't know what to do but when the minds of men start to fall silent Viola must choose between her heart and her life. CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR ALL 3 BOOKS.

1. Chapter 1

WHEN SILENCE FALLS

When silence falls and all around

The noise of men has no sound

When angels call

And from the depths

The song of love

Is heard again-

VIOLA

"Todd…."

"Todd…"

"Todd…"

"Can you hear me? Are you there? Please, please hear me? Please come back to me. I'll do it all, I'll come with you, run away with you just please… please come back for me. It hurts Todd, it hurts so bad. I will wait for you Todd, I will wait forever though I wish forever wasn't so far away. I lost myself in you Todd, I'm addicted to you, and I won't let you go, not ever. I'm gonna hold you in my arms because if you die than I do to, I'm gonna bring you back though Todd. I'm gonna bring you back and I will be there waiting for you, waiting for your hour."

"Viola" Ben asks hesitantly from standing across the clearing. "Is he any different, any better?"

Without turning towards him I shake my head and clutch Todd's hand harder than I should. His hand is warm in the heat of the sun but lies limp and heavy when I let it go almost like it's, like he's- dead. I hate myself for thinking it but lying like this he looks lost, helpless.

"I won't give up on him" I mumble though I'm not sure if it's to myself or Ben, "I won't let him die, not here or now. He would never let me either, we'll get through and I'll be strong, for him I could be strong forever."
