Prologue
Kal El hovered above his adopted home planet. High above. The thin blue atmosphere of Earth rests beneath his red boots as the vastness of space crowns his red caped shoulders. His broad chest with his diamond shaped family crest facing the solar disc. The yellow sun washes his alien body with pure energy and, like a great solar collector; every one of his atoms drinks in the natural bounty. A feeling of cosmic connection temporarily abated the lonely reminder that he was the sole survivor of an extinct race. Jettisoned from the dying planet Krypton, his loving parents' only wish was to save his young life. And here, miles above the din of humanity, he readies himself for another day and pushes his thoughts out into the universe. Kal El, Superman of planet Earth, delivers a serine and sincere acknowledgement of life.
Five years later
Kal El hovered above his adopted home planet. High above. The thin blue atmosphere of Earth rests beneath his charcoal boots as the vastness of space crowns his black caped shoulders. His broad chest with his diamond shaped family crest facing the solar disc. The yellow sun washes his alien body with pure energy and, like a great solar collector; every one of his atoms feeds on the unlimited power. A feeling of cosmic loss painfully reminds Kal El that he is the sole survivor of an extinct race. Jettisoned from the dying planet Krypton, his parents' only wish was to save their science and way of life. And here, miles above the cacophony of humanity, he readies himself for another day and pushes his thoughts out into the universe. Kal El, Superman of planet Earth, delivers a severe and sincere message to all. Order at any cost.
Lois didn't deserve to die.
Luthor did.
Kal El descends from his sub orbital perch making a routine sweep of several emergency and police microwave bands. He no longer needed to report to his job at the Daily Planet. As far as the world knew, two star reporters perished in the explosion on that fateful day. Satisfied that the criminal minded were cowering in their dark hideaways, he adjusts his course and heads toward his Fortress of Solitude directly in the heart of Metropolis.
