I do not own Harry Potter.

I sat on my window sill of the Head girls' bedroom. I watched the drops of water fall from the sky onto the grounds of Hogwarts. I inhaled with a sigh as I exhaled. Smelling the rain. I could hear the thunder rumbling through the dark clouds. It would seem strange to many people, but this was one of my favourite moments. Sitting content with my hot chocolate and marshmallows in my Pyjama's smelling my favourite smell in the world. I heard a knock and turned my head.

"Hey Draco." I said smiling at my best friend. I know weird Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy best friends. It was a rocky road to friendship, but we got there

"Hey Mione. What are you doing hanging outside a window. I know I can be a bit unbearable to live with sometimes, but I don't have to go these lengths." Draco said as he walked over to me, with a smirk on his face.

"Don't worry, I won't jump. I'd miss teasing you too much." I said punching him in the arm lightly.

"That hurt. Anyways, what are you doing sitting in your window sill?" he asked, sitting down on the chair next to me.

"Smelling the rain." I said after inhaling again.

"What?"

"You heard me."

"That's a bit odd, I never noticed rain had a smell." He said. Taking my mug off me and taking a sip before handing it back.

"It does. I can't describe it though, that's why I love it and you can't imitate the smell. You can only smell it when it rains. Come here and smell it." I said grabbing his hand and pulling him over. I felt a jolt of electricity through my hand, but thought nothing more of it, brushing it off as my slight crush on Draco. Yes I did have a crush on Draco Malfoy, but I didn't want to ruin our friendship by telling him my feelings and he not return them.

I leaned over and took a deep breathe. "You're right. It does have a nice smell. Kind of…fresh don't you think?"

"Yeah, I never thought of that word to describe it. Thank you. What did you come in here for anyway?" I asked.

"Oh that, um will you go to Hogsmead with me this weekend?" he asked looking a little nervous.

"Why would you ask we always go to Hogsmead together?" I said confused.

"No, I mean as a-a date? I've sort of fancied you for a while now. And I understand if you don't want to bu-" I cut him off with my lips against his. It was a sweet and soft kiss, and Draco finally caught on after a few seconds and kissed me back. His lips were soft and skilled and I can honestly say it was the best kiss I had ever had. His hand went to my cheek and my arms went around his neck. We pulled away and looked at each other.

"Yes I would love to go to Hogsmead on a date with you, but…" I said smirking up at him.

"What?" he asked.

"I would rather go as your girlfriend rather than your date. Will you be my boyfriend Draco." I whispered as he put his forehead against mine.

"Definitely." He said back kissing me lightly on the lips before we watch the rain fall, and smelling the fresh air. Yes this was definitely one of my favourite moments…
