In ch.103, the opening words are 'The light has faded from Roy's world'. That was my prompt, in a way, for writing this fic.

Slightly dizzy from blood loss, the blonde woman looks at the chimera holding her. "We're going down there."

He looks like he's about to argue, but her glare silences him. With a defeated sigh he looks at his companions, "Come on, we're going down."

The gorilla chimera picks up the wounded officer and jumps into the haze that hides whatever lies below. On impact, he drops his passenger and rolls to avoid broken bones. The woman sits up and looks around, spotting the man she's looking for lying on the floor just barely out of the fight. She runs over to him and grabs him under the arms, hauling his limp frame over to a wall. She lays him out and puts one hand to his chest, praying that she'll feel a pulse. Her prayers are answered, and she sighs in relief.

The man sits up, one hand on the wall, eyes still closed. "Leutenant? Is that you?"

She looks at him questioningly, "Of course. Why do you have to ask?" He doesn't answer, and her gaze hardens. "If you need to know who I am, you can just look at me."

He chuckles, but the sound carries no humor. "No, I can't."Now she's a little bit fed up, "Sir, with all due respect, you are an idiot. You seem to have forgotten that you have two perfectly functioning eyes."

He laughs the humorless laugh again. "Not anymore."

"Sir?"

And as he turns his head towards her and opens his eyes, she realizes what has happened. "They took my eyes, Riza." His voice carries no emotion, only a tone of explanation, but his words carry a disproportionate amount of weight.

She clasps his hands in hers for a moment before standing up, pulling a gun from its holster. "Sir, do not move." Once again he gives a dry chuckle, and she takes ten steps forward. As the seemingly teenage boy in the middle of the room sends a blast at her allies, she raises her gun. As his head becomes centered in her crosshairs, she mutters under her breath, "This is for him."

A/N: This is how my sister and I hoped she would find out. Unfortunately, it was not to be. The actual reveal is much less dramatic.
