Authors Note - Just sat down and started writing this one night, I think i had Hinata in mind when I wrote it; she always struck me as just the quiet girl, being of a meek disposition. R&R please! :-) xxx
The Good Girl, Always
The good girl is your every day girl whom you'll barely give a glance at...or if you do, it's just to take the piss and laugh. A nobody really, who doesn't deserve your time.
Always neat, always tidy, you'll never see her without a pen or PE kit. The one girl who will let you borrow anything 'cause she has spare of everything... even if she knows you never give it back.
The good girl is the one who goes straight home after school, doesn't stop, doesn't stare, as her parents are waiting, though it depends what mood they're in if they want to hug or just have a spat. She's barely just got her foot over the threshold when it starts.
Always on time, with class or with homework, she won't let you down; "Can you do this? Can you do that?" Yeah, sure, whatever you ask, let me just add it to all that.
The good girl is the one who doesn't complain or fight back when you're mean, she'll take what she gets, even if you snap. At least she's getting some form of attention from someone. What's the point of starting a fight, when you know you won't win?
Always only leaves her room for work, school or food, she daren't be out of it otherwise, too many people, too many needs that aren't hers. Sometimes she feels like she's being ripped apart. Mum and Dad are having another scrap.
The good girl is quite and obedient, just the way you like her. There's nothing left. You only want her when you need something, she's afraid to bring friends back.
Always says ""It's ok," or "I'm fine," but you'll accept the brush off regardless and won't even bother to get close enough until it's too late to look at the cracks. Of course they all have their own little problems, too big to notice hers. So and so has fallen out with so and so.
The good girl stays silent whilst you scream, resistance is futile. If she tries to answer back, she knows she'll get a stinging slap. Dad's stormed off, Mum's stood barking orders and having a fag. They always did have their little wars over her head.
Always smiles with her few friends, she has to constantly hide. Every single day there's a persistent chant to everything, even breathing; Abide! Abide! Abide! She can feel all of her cracks, she's just so tired.
The good girl feels like she's running out of time, answering to everyone else, keeping herself at the top, but running around not for herself; doing this, doing that...and for what? For who? She looks in a mirror and sees a blank hole of a face staring back.
Always listens to her parents argue, no matter how late at night. Always stuck in the middle of all her friends when they all scrap. When everyone walks off in huff, in a little, angry world of their own, they leave her standing in the middle of all their messy problems. You fix it, they all spat.
The good girl. The good girl will make it all go away. That's what the good girl does. That's all the good girl's useful for.
Does anyone notice her standing there, alone? Do you even dare?
Have a care, as one day; the good girl, always the good girl... she won't be there.
