Prologue of:
Kami-tachi no Yurai
In a world where demons and spirits are looked upon with the utmost scorn, few who have come to house the powerful immortals have ever lived long enough to make a difference. Even those who do live cannot do much about the world that looks upon them with such hatred. Though it is not their faults for bearing such power, humans, as a whole have chosen to overlook that fact. Instead, they focus on the possibility of them turning against them. Do they realize that an attack from the vessel of an apparition would be solely humanity's fault?
The day is October tenth, and sixteen years ago, to this day, a powerful kitsune known as Kyuubi no Yoko, was sealed away in the body of a newborn boy by the Fourth Hokage of Konohakegure, the Village Hidden in the Leaves in the country of fire. The boy has had to go through nearly twelve years of his life alone and hated. Though through his gennin years he gained many friends and even more allies. He has witnessed more than any boy his age should, he has seen people die, seen people kill, seen people hate him for something he didn't do. Amazingly enough, through all of this, he has kept his will strong and his outlook bright.
Naruto Uzumaki strives to be the Hokage of Konohakegure, so that people may see him for what he is, and not what they think he is. He is the vessel of the sealed Kyuubi, and though the kitsune has tempted Naruto numerous times, he never gave in. Naruto Uzumaki served as an inspiration to many during his time, and shall continue to serve as an inspiration to humans for many generations to come.
However, this is not a story about one of Naruto's great feats, rather, this is a story of all the poor souls Naruto befriended, forced to be what humans call jinchuuriki, or container of sorts for the demon. They became allies, and fast friends, but faded from history to protect their legacy.
This is the story of demon foxes, spirit horses, birds of the gods, and much, much more. This, legacy, is the story that will become known as Kami-tachi no Yurai, or, the Story of the Gods.
End prologue.
Author's Note: Hey y'all, this is Ko here, bringing you a prologue for this rather odd story that just came to me. As I'm sure most of you out there are screaming like little biatches about the use of Japanese in an, other wise, English story, I must say one thing first. The use of Japanese makes me feel comfortable. Unlike most of you, I was born and raised in an area where your second language had to be Japanese or you can't get a job. So, chill out.
Japanese translations:
Kami-tachi no Yurai- The Memoirs of Gods if you translate literally.
Jinchuuriki- demon sacrifices, literally: the power of the devils
Konohakegure- Village hidden amongst the leaves
Kyuubi no Yoko- the mystic fox of the nine tails (yoko is actually a compound word. Much like mailbox if you will. Yo means mystic and ko means fox, since the kanji for kitsune can be read as ko)
Hokage- Shadow of Fire (with this one, in the world of Naruto the prefix of the word changes with the country. When Gaara becomes the kage of Sunagakure he is known as the Kazekage)
Gaara- one who only loves himself
Kaze- wind
Sunagakure- Village hidden in the sands
