This takes place 35 years after the end of the series. season 5 spoilers
Astrid stands in the Harvard laboratory , everything has been packed up. She looks around and speaks to her self Well Walter I guess this means Goodbye.
"Astrid, were ready lets go." speaks a now grown Etta
"Allright , but could you maybe let me have just a moment alone. I want to have a final look."
"Of course , mom and dad said to give you all the time you needed."
After Etta leaves Astrid walks too walters secret tunnel with all of the fringe events were stored. He didn't believe she knew but she had known everything about him.
At the last shelf she finds his last device one he had made just in case they needed to find another realty again. astrid types in the year she wants and sees two places listed one says walter one says peter. She takes a deep breath and pushes walter.
Etta frantically calls peter and says "Dad shes gone, I dont know where to look."
petter laughs and says "it's allright Etta shes gone to a place shes allways wanted I can feel it."
Walter and the boy walk out of the science lab, Walter talks out loud not expecting a response.
"well, they're done for now but they want me to keep you safe. They said they would give us a place to stay but they want me to find a mother for you. How am I to do that we know, no one in this time period."
The boy writes on his notepad and it says " The women in blue by the door is the one "
Walter looks up and sees a beautiful older black woman dressed in blue. Walter looks at the boy who just nods. They walk up to the woman and Walter touches her shoulder and says " mam I am looking for someone to help me raise this young boy.,He tells me you the perfect match for us."
Astrid turns and says " Yes, Walter I think he is right."
Walter looks confused until Astrid raises her arm and shows the time pod. Walter grabs Astrid and swings her around then stops and pulls her and the boy into a small room in the corner of the science building.
"Tell me everything, how are they all.?"
" well, we lost Nina last year. Broyles retired after that. Peter now runs massive dynamics and Olivia heads the fringe department. Etta oh Etta is so beautiful she is a fringe detective and married to her partner James. there expecting there first child. Peter and Olivia had two more kids Walter jr whos at Harvard and Madison who oddly just married Conner the other Olivia's son. The bridge was put back up but only because of some small effects from William Bell"
" but, why are you hear why to wait so long"
"Well, you said the battery would only last for one trip, so I waited to to to to to to tell I was equal, well maybe a little younger than you. so that I could tell you this... Even though I tried to see you as a crazy uncle or father I couldn't. I Fell in love with your heart and crazy ideas I won't live my life without you."
" ummmmm. wow well, I guess all there is to say is I love you too Astrid." Then he kissed her and for the first time in a long time, the boy smiled.
