Author's note: I own nothing, and I depress myself. Not good… hmmnn. Oh well, enjoy.

No banners wave at Morgul now…
No legions walk its ramparts wide.
No Nazgul's call does pierce the night,
For all is sunk in blackened tide…

When the flood into Mordor came,
It drenched the fires, and swallowed their light.
Within the wane of a single night…
A creeping ocean laid its claim.
Tis' said, the tower twice was slain,
When Sauron fell in flaming pain,
And when no fell beast did remain,
An unknown silence glazed like ice.

Another death did Mogul die,
When un-souled walked, its icy lay.
And stone by stone it did decay,
It's eerie glow, seen without eyes.
…The corpses lay, upon its steps,
Within the walls, within the floors,
Below the waters rippling waves,
Behind the cold and rotted doors.

You'd guess, perhaps, this news was fair?
That evils symbol passed away?
Alas for tell you now I must…
That evil died, with good that day.

Good's sacrifices put to scorn,
With no Dark lord upon the throne,
Mankind inherited all lands, and in that seat, they placed their own.
The hobbits fled, the dwarfs with them,
Retreating from a hostile land.
The wiser creatures went with them…

And cruel the fate of the last stragglers stand.

Within that tower of sorcery,
They hid and wept their bitter tears,
Who could have guessed? That later years…
Would see them tombed within alive,
To where they fled, just to survive.

...No living dwell in Morgul now,
And one shade walks its ramparts wide.
His helm of thorn he bows in pain,
And wishes he could also die.

The sea grass blows, about his hand,
Which will a blade, lift, no more.
He looks past the cold to the dammed lands.
And whispers,

"What was all the fighting for?"
