Naruto sighed and looked around into the darkness. what was he doing in darkness you asked well you see in the final battle against Madara he was tricked and trapped in a tree. He had been for a thousand years at least or more he didn't know. He didn't know what was going on the outside of the tree, sometimes when people were really loud he could hear them and sometimes even help them, but, now it seemed his power was almost gone he didn't know how his power was disapearing he just knew.

His head then shot up in surprise at the scream of pure pain went through him he could feel it go right down into himself. Naruto then saw a bit of light in the darkness a portal had opened, and inside the portal he saw a boy with a straw hat on his back wearing a red vest and jean shorts screaming up to the sky, next to him was a young man of 21 he had black hair with a smile upon his face with a hole going through his chest. That young man reminded him so much of himself.

'I have to help him.' Naruto thought with determination he hadn't had in hundreds of years. With all the power he could muster sent it out to him hoping that it will reach him.

Outside the tree…

Luffy couldn't believe it his brother was dead, dead, dead, ace was dead, he could feel his eye's getting wet from tears. He then felt warmth beside him and thought it was that Lava guy form before he wanted to hurt him but his body couldn't move, so he turned his head and saw it wasn't the lava guy it was that tree, that nearly dead tree it stared glowing. He had heard of that tree it was called the impossible tree because it grew at impel down. The dead leaves then began to glow and break apart flowing to ace's dead body, his wound then began to heal. Ace then slowly started to open his eyes, his vision was fuzzy and when it cleared he saw he was looking at rock, when he looked up he saw his brother crying when he looked around he saw he was on the battle field he dragged himself up and looked down at were the hand had gone through his chest. All there was now was a scar.

"ACE!" Luffy yelled as he latched onto his brother in pure happiness.

Ace startled by this tried to pry Luffy of himself while thinking, 'HOW AM ALIVE, it's not that I am not grateful, but, how.'

Luffy then stopped trying struggling when he saw that tree again glow. Ace as well turned to it, he had heard that tree was magic that it had been in this place for so long that it was now called the nebarizuyoi tree (persistent tree), but, while he was in impel down he had heard the inmates saying that it was starting to die.

Slowly the tree started to disappear and in it's place was a man with the brightest hair he had ever seen, he had three marks on both cheeks and wore a coat that looked as if it was on fire, he wore a black top and knee high white cargo pants, but, his clothing or the way his hair looked wasn't what caught Ace's attention it was his eye's. They were closed not in pain or frustration but as if he couldn't open them.

"Are you the one who brought me back?" Ace asked quietly.

The man nodded.

"Why?" Ace asked in pure wonderment.

"Does that really matter; all that really matters is that you're alive." He answered softly. Ace nodded his head, "Thankyou."

"What?" asked Ace and Luffy?

"I said thankyou." He said again.

"Why are you thanking us, we didn't do anything." Ace said.

"You have done something for me that no other has before, you have set me free." Naruto's body then slowly started to disintegrate into dust, "now I can die in the light in stead of the darkness." he said. Finally he had opened his eyes and saw they were a shockling bright blue color, "now the future rests in your hands, I wish you luck." He said happily with a smile on as face as his body disappeared into nothingness and in the distance he and Luffy swore they could hear a phantom echo saying belive it.
