Gifted: Chapter 1
It was a beautiful day. The big bright sun shining and the breeze swirling in the air. The perfect day for a picnic, thought the Wild Kratts crew. Martin and Chris Kratt, along with Emily and Lainey Sutton, each grabbed a corner of the picnic blanket and laid it down on the lush green grass of a hidden meadow that was right next to a large tree and close to a big blue lake. Koki and Aviva started to place food down on the soft red blanket. Sandwiches, veggies and dip, Dorados, and fruit salad. "Jimmy, when are the brownies going to be ready?" Aviva asked loudly into the Tortuga so Jimmy could hear. "They'll be coming out in a couple of minutes!" Jimmy replied back. "Ok, but hurry! We have hungry siblings here that are drooling all over the food and are wanting to eat!" said Koki entering the conversation.
"I am SO hungry!" said Martin. "That sandwich is looking really tasty…" he said as his mouth watered. " I'm so hungry I could eat a whole zebra!" said Emily. "WHAT?!" said the crew, now Jimmy out with hot fresh brownies. All eyes on Emily, the blonde haired sister, "What? It's a movie line! You know, from the Lion King?" Emily asked. "OOHH!" said the crew with a strong sigh of relief. "Oh yeah, Hehe; Huhu, we're fresh out of zebra." Said Lainey, her younger sibling, finishing up the line. "I know you wouldn't eat a zebra!" Well of course not! Their WAY too awesome for that! Their white stripes, their amazing confusion camo, and their incredible speed, and of course their awesome sound they make!" Said Emily with a smiling grin. "Alright you guys, we can eat now!" said Aviva breaking their zebra facts conversation. The siblings all gathered around the blanket and then they all started to eat their dinner.

When all of them were done eating, Aviva said "Alright, now let's get into the Tortuga and get ready for some shut eye." "Aww!" said the two-paired siblings. "I wanted to swim in the lake for a couple of minutes." said Martin. "I bet I swim faster than you, Emily!" "Is that a challenge Marty-boy?" Emily said with her hands on her hips. "Ha! You wish you could swim like me!" Chris, on the other hand, wanted to climb the big tree they ate next to. "Race ya to the top Chris!" said Lainey. "You're on!" said Chris. Aviva and Koki over heard this and gave them permission to do the challenges but have to come in once they were done. "We are watching the clock. If you guys take too long, we will come and get you…" they said while entering the Tortuga. "GO!" shouted the four, getting into position for race time.
While swimming and climbing, the four did not noticed something strange coming in. They were too busy having a too close to call contest. Then all of a sudden, a huge white flash filled the entire sky. All four siblings screeched into a halt staring at the sky, now back to normal. "What was that?" asked Chris. Then a huge strike of lightning came out of nowhere and hit the tree and lake! But, to their shock, everything was ok. The tree that Chris and Lainey was in, that was struck, was in the same condition as it was before the lightning! Martin and Emily looked around and noticed they were still alive in electrified water! No one should of survived in those situations! The tree would of at least be on fire, and everyone knows that there is no surviving when it comes to putting water and lightning together! After getting out of the tree and lake, they were stunned! A little shaky and hair standing on end! Even Martin's! "Time to go into the Tortuga!" said Lainey, trying to take her electrified brown hairs down. Everyone agreed with that and rushed entering the Tortuga.
"Who won you gu…. What happened?" Aviva asked turning around taking her first look at the siblings. Koki asked "what the… Martin, your hair is sticking up, Chris, your shaking, and Emily and Lainey, your hair has bolts of electricity flowing through your hair!" entering the main area. "Did you guys see that crazy big flash?" asked the four at once. "No! Why?" asked Aviva. "We were struck by some weird lightning!" said Emily, as her quaky knees gave out, causing her to fall. Martin caught her before she fell on the ground and sat her in a chair. "Are you ok?" Aviva asked rushing to her. Placing her hand on Emily's shoulder, She felt a strong shock flow through her arm. "Ouch!" Aviva said recoiling her arm to her body. "I feel fine." Said Emily sort of dazed. "Alright, you guys need some rest. You have had a weird day." Said Aviva helping everyone into their hammocks.
Snoring soon filled the air shortly after, but Aviva was the only one who couldn't sleep! And she wasn't even in that storm! She just kept looking at her arm that was shocked earlier. "I have to figure out what happened." She said to herself as she snuck out of her hammock and into her work station. She then turned on her computer and tried to see if it was recorded somewhere. "Here it is!" she whispered. Looking at the video, she noticed that the weird lightning cracked and split into two bolts, making it possible to hit both the tree and the lake! Now knowing exactly what happened, she wondered "how did this happen and how are they still alive? The impact and not to mention, the power of the electricity should of killed them!"
The sun brightly shone in through the Tortuga as morning quickly arrived. Stretching her arms out, Lainey woke up and shook her older sister up. "Wake up! There is a new adventure in store for us today!" she said as Emily yawned and tried to fix her blond bed-head. Looking around they both noticed that everyone was still sleeping. "Wait! Where is Aviva?" asked Lainey. "There she is. How did she get from her hammock to her working station?" asked Emily. "I don't know." Replied Lainey. "Should we wake them up?" Emily asked her fellow bed-head with a grin. "Of course! But how?" Lainey asked. Getting up, Emily snuck up out of bed and found Martin's horn. "Have any requests?" Emily asked her sibling smiling. "How about my favorite song?" said Lainey. "Good one!" said Emily, winking at her sister.
Pressing her lips on the horn, Emily started to blow out the song. Everyone woke up in quite a rush. "Hey! Really? My horn?" asked Martin as he rubbed his eyes. "Who's idea was that?" asked Chris looking at the two. "Ooooo! It was mine! Said Emily as she raised her hand high and proud. Laughing, everyone got out of bed and started to head for breakfast. "Wait!" said Jimmy, "Aviva isn't awake." "You mean she didn't wake up with the horn?" asked Koki. Then Koki walked over to Aviva, put her hand on her shoulder and woke her up.
Dudududuuuuu! What happened to them? What was with that lightning? Stay tuned for anwser to it and more!
