Once upon a time in a kingdom far, far away there lived a beautiful princess. The princess had fallen in love with the King of the Goblins, Jareth. The Goblin King in turn, loved the princess. The princess would do anything for the King because she loved him so much. The princess had to leave her family behind to live with the King in the castle beyond the Goblin City located in a magical world called the Underground. Her family aged, yet the princess stayed young with her true love. Although the princess did not regret her decision in her love for the Goblin King she missed her family a great deal. The King knew how this troubled her and decided to allow her to visit her beloved brother one last time. She readily accepted his offer, desperate to let her brother know that she still loved him dearly. When the princess arrived she found her brother on his deathbed.
He had married and had children and had a life of his own. It seemed as though he had forgotten all about his sister. She did not want to intrude on his life and tell him the truth that she had left him behind. But as she was about to leave, he called out to her. His wife and children looked at her questioningly, but she was not concerned with them, her only concern was of her brother. He recalled being taken to a magical place but over the years he had thought it was just a dream. He had thought that his sister was just a dream. The only memory that he had of her was his dreams. He could not separate between the dreams and memories. His parents had showed him pictures and told him stories, believing that she had run away, but it did not seem real to him.
She had broken down in tears and told him of how she had wished him away when she was a foolish child and he held no blame. She told him of the friends she made and the trials she faced so that he could be safe. She told him how although she had saved him, she yet again was selfish when she chose to stay with the Goblin King. And when she told him of her love for the King, he only asked if he had loved her wholly in return and treated her well and made her happy. She replied that he had. He then told her that he had also found his soul mate and achieved his dreams. Loving, and knowing that he was loved by his wife and children and also by his sister, who had always been an unsolved mystery to him; he closed his eyes for the last time. She had never forgotten of her baby brother who was ultimately the source of her happiness. She continued to live happily throughout the centuries alongside the Goblin King, never forgetting that it had all been because of her brother, Toby Williams. He had lived a full life full of love and happiness-and that is all that is needed and worthwhile.
