His eyes met hers from across the table, emotions that he could feel but not identify flicked through him before she took on a mischievous air and turned back to that damned Newton boy, flirting casually.

The stupid boy was actually being turned on by his wife. He could feel it.

He sighed again, forcing himself to take a small bite of whatever human food this was supposed to be—honestly, who would want to eat steamed liver and onions? Even if he was attracted to the idea of ripping that Newton boy's head off, it didn't mean he was going to go out and feast on some guys pancreas. He may drink blood but even that was borderline disgusting. Honestly, if it didn't smell so good…

He forced himself away from that dangerous line of thought before he was tempted to do something he would later regret. Might later regret.

Edward nudged him in the side, a concerned look on his face, although he did also feel amused.

'I'm fine.' He thought, and shrugged at the concerned look his brother shot him before his attention went back to Bella, who was still talking. Apparently she hadn't noticed Edward's wandering attention.

Bored even more than before, he gazed around the table, looking at all of the familiar students seated before and around him, several of which were his siblings. He forced down another bite of the…stuff, wondering how Bella had talked them all into this. Well, it wasn't like they had had a choice. What with Charlie's urging for Bella to spend more time with her friends and the encroaching deadline for her Vampirism…

He would've wanted something like this too.

Surprisingly the entire clique that had engulfed her in the beginning, excepting Jessica, had come to the new restaurant. It was some fancy French theme, with an unpronounceable name and overpriced food, but it was the best thing Forks had to offer.

He growled again, lowly so that the humans wouldn't hear, at Mike who was making another pass at Alice. He seemed to have forgotten his brain this morning and was having a hard time remembering that Alice was married and was HIS!

It didn't help that she wasn't stopping him, probably as revenge for him tossing most of his newly acquired clothes to the local Goodwill while she was out shopping. Edward sent him another look as Newton touched Alice's knee, and he felt a low growl rumble through him. His family glanced at him, likely feeling it echo through their chests. Alice just smirked.

He could barely restrain himself from launching across the table to murder that bastard Mike Newton, but he did.

Oh, the things he did for love…
