No One Can Replace you

Whilst Stan and Ford were apologising, Dipper hurried out of the room-- Mabel being the only one to notice this.

Slightly confused, she followed him into their room, un-noticed. She crouched behind the worn, creaky door and saw her twin take out a dusty, seemingly un-used box from under his bed.

The box, it turned out, contained photo's. From where she stood, Mabel caught glimpses of pictures from elementary; middle school as well as photo's of family trips out and other events. She saw Dipper's eyes sadden and spark tears.

"Do you really want me replaced...?" He whispered to himself.

That was it. She had to interfere.

"No I don't silly," She spoke loudly and hugged him from behind. Mabel felt Dipper's muscles tense underneath her but she continued hugging her younger twin (by five minutes).

Slowly Dipper hugged her back, burying his face in her shoulder.

"Do you really wish I was cooler," He murmured. Mabel's eyes lit up in understanding when she remembered Dippy-Fresh (is that even his name...?) from Mabel Land. At the time it seemed like a good idea, making a cooler and (what she believed was) better version of her twin. Then she remembered seeing the real Dippers creast-fallen, unbelieving expression when she had high-fived his counterpart.

"Dipper I was stupid, I was mad at you for leaving and I wanted you to stay with us-- me. I don't want you to change, you're perfect the way you are. The nerdy, geeky weirdo you are is the real you... and I wouldn't have it any other way. No one can replace you." The pre-teen felt Dipper's grip on her tighten, as did hers, and they stayed in that position for awhile before the latter pulled away.

"You're stupid you know that," He said, grinning.

"I know but you are too," Mabel grinned back and knew she was forgiven.

Over the last couple of weeks of their Summer things got better and despite the worry that he wasn't good enough was still there, it was now in the back of his mind, never acknowlaged.

Dipper and Mabel would always be there for each other, no matter what and nothing could change that.

I'm pretty happy with this to be honest. I decided to write it because I was watching Weirdmaggedon again and I noticed that Mabel basically replaced Dipper with someone who was the opposite of him. I hope you guys enjoyed my first Gravity Falls one-shot! (Also the whole Mabel being 5 minutes older than Dipper is true).
