Chapter 1
Long nails tapped the edge of the wooden arm rest of her chair. How long would she have to wait for the rain to stop before she could go outside? It's not like she hadn't tried but all of the servants were able to stop her before she was able to place her foot outside. Even with her husband away she felt a prisoner in her own home, if she could even call it that. Thinking of her husband she wondered when he would return. Next week would be a month since he left. He told her he had some business to take care of in Ireland and didn't know when he would return. She sent him off with a smile and a promise of good behavior. Elizabeth kept her fingers crossed behind her back as she told him this.
Letting out a sigh she got up and walked to her window. How she longed to go outside and dance in the rain, no matter how childish and unladylike it seemed. Pondering of what to do she felt a light bulb go on in her head. Giggling she began to take off the sheets from the bed. Tying the ends together she made a type of rope with the linen. Opening the window she wrapped the sheets tightly on one of the legs of the bed. She took a quick glance at her mirror and decided to let her hair down. She wore one of her least favorite dresses, a dark black frill lace. Now she would have an excuse to get rid of it. Walking back to the open window she held onto the sheet rope and slowly began to descend along the manor wall. Elizabeth struggled a bit trying her hardest not to make a sound. Reaching the end of the rope the blonde girl closed her eyes and let go. She fell into a puddle and let out a soft cry of pain. Despite the pain in her shoulder she got up and scrumbled away from the manor before any of the servants saw her.
The pain in her shoulder subsided once she reached the garden. The flowers looked so beautiful in contrast to the gloomy weather. Lady Phantomhive swayed around the payvmented walk way. She felt like a little girl again, and she missed that feeling. Being married really hadn't turned out the way she imagined. Being out here in the cold rain made her feel free. She stopped dancing when she felt that someone was watching her. Turning around she found a cerulean eye glaring at her with discontent.
"Elizabeth! What on earth are you doing?!"
She flinched at his use of her full name though she laughed nervously.
"Darling you're home I've missed you so much!" She clasped her hands together in glee but kept her distance from her husband. Elizabeth knew she was about to get a scolding of a lifetime.
