Bingo Slot (84) {Trope} Fake/Pretend Relationship for the Riverdale FanFiction Challenge Forum
He leaned against the tree as he looked into her chocolate brown eyes. "I don't think this is the wisest of all ideas." He sighed deeply. "I mean how is this going to help you win my sister's heart?" Chic shook his head. "There is no way Betty will able to allow herself to fall for you if she believes that you and I had dated."
"Betty doesn't want me. She's straight." Veronica sighed as she rested against the tree with Chic Cooper close beside her. "Look Chic I just need this please." She looked into his sea of blue green eyes.
"I can't take my sister's place. I have a penis after all." Chic pointed his hand down towards his belt buckle.
Veronica sighed deeply. "Forget that I asked."
Chic sighed. "Why can't you ask someone else to be in a fake relationship with you right now?" He moved closer to his youngest sister's best friend ... whom was in love with his baby sister ... but so far his baby sister didn't return the feelings. "Why do you even need to be in a pretend relationship anyway?"
Veronica glared out in front of her towards the brush of wild flowers across the wooden path that they had been walking on. "Just forget I said anything Chic." She breathed out.
"I can't forget this Ronnie." Chic tilted his head to look into Veronica's eyes. "We have known each other now for six years. I have never seen you this desperate to get over my sister then to ask for a fake relationship." He sighed as he ran his right hand through his hair. "Just talk to Betty. Tell her how you feel for her. You may even be surprised."
Veronica looked Chic straight in the eyes; "Jughead proposed to Betty and she said yes."
Chic's eyes widen. "What?" He breathed out.
"Betty told me last night after she returned from their dinner." Tears rolled down her cheeks. "He dropped down on one knee and held out the ring. It was her dream come true." She threw herself into his arms. Crying into his chest above his heart. "Why must I believe that Betty and I are fated to be soulmates ... but only to have fate twist it in her not loving me?"
Chic rested his head on top of hers. "You need to tell Betty how you feel. I know my baby sister. Betty needs to be told that she's loved." He stared across the forest. "Yeah Betty had a major childhood crush on Archie until the finally told him how she felt for him ... only for him to say that he didn't return those feelings." He felt Veronica shaking against him. "Then Jughead told her that he loved her ..."
"The rest is fairy tale ending." Veronica pushed herself away from Chic. She moved down the wooden path with her arms wrapped around her waist. She needed to be moving. "It's too late to tell Betty, Chic. Much much too late."
Chic hurried to catch up with a fast pacing Veronica. "No Veronica, it's not to late. Betty doesn't believe that she has a chance with you." He put his hand on her shoulder and stopped her. He turned her to face him again. "You just need to tell Betty how you truly feel about her. Then she'll realize ..."
"Then she'll realize what Chic? That she needs to leave Jughead for me? That she needs to cheat on Jughead with me?" Veronica waved her arms wide out at her side. "Betty isn't a cheater Chic. Betty won't leave Jughead for me. Betty won't hurt Jughead. If I tell her that I truly love her ... then that will simply destroy her." Tears rolled more freely down her cheeks. "I love Betty way to much to destroy her." Her hand rose to rest against her heart. "It's too late Chic. It's too late." She turned and fled down the wooden path.
