"And he is narrowly defeated by the champion" exclaimed the commentator.

I had been watching the Elite 4 challenge. I had always been keen on watching trainers challenge the league, however, lately I had been watching the challenges with particular interest. It was only a week until my tenth birthday, and a week until id be setting out on my epic journey. I could see myself now challenging Lance for the title of champion.

My mum wasn't giving any clues as to what my first Pokémon would be, even though I constantly pestered her about it.

I was so excited this was my first Pokémon he would help me beat Lance one day. I bent down to pat my new friend. Then things went blank.
