Are You Out or In?
"Follow me Snape," Lucius Malfoy stated, "I have something to show you, that just might change your mind about meeting my friends."
"It better be something good." Severus Snape rose from the chair.
Lucius Malfoy lead Severus out of the Slytherin common room and the library. He stood at the widow and pointed to a couple sitting under a tree.
Lily felt bad. She knew Severus liked her more than a friend, but James Potter was so cute and funny. Still she felt as though she was betraying Severus. James leaned into kiss her. She let him. She smiled softly at James.
"Will you be my girlfriend?" James asked.
"Yes." Lily smiled and kissed he once more. Then lay against James chest. "Yes."
"Thanks." James kissed the top of her head and smiled. The two settled in for a calm afternoon, watching the clouds pass by.
Severus Snape a livid. Everyone in the school knew he liked Lily. Lily knew so why was she being kissed by James Potter of all people. The only boy worst then James was…no James was the worst. Not only did Snape owe the boy his life, but also it was James' friend that put him in danger.
"Face it Severus. You are nothing but a stray dog to her, and James it her hero. Come. Meet my friends, well form a family." Lucius grinned. "Get revenge."
Severus Snape walked out into the hall. He could go two ways, he could turn right and go to see Lily and try to get her, or he could follow Lucius and go down to the dark dungeons. Sighing, he knew in his heart that he could not compete with James.
"So my friend, are you in or out?" Lucius asked.
"Let's go meet these friends of you Lucius." Severus and Lucius made there way to the dark cold dungeons.
"Of course Severus."
Severus stood in the middle of the circle of other death eaters. It was his time to take the mark. His anger had increased, only last week had Lily told him that James had popped the question. Lily was now lost to him. Nothing mattered now.
"So, this is Severus Snape?" Tom Riddle, Lord Voldermort, eyed the young boy before him.
"Yes. My lord." Lucius Malfoy spoke up. "He is very good with curses and brilliant about potions. "
"Severus Snape, do you pledge you life to me? To do as only I command?" Voldermort asked.
"Yes." Snape said as images of Potter and Lily flashed around his head.
"Then give me you left arm." Voldermort raised his wand…and Severus Snape became a death eater. He moved to take a spot beside his new "brother" Lucius.
