Star Trek: Endeavour

Prologue - How it all began.....

"Captains Log. Stardate 82863.5. Or the 16th June 2463. I always liked reminding myself of those old ancient dates. Captain Steven M. Johnson commanding this ships maiden voyage. I look upon my ship with wonderment. The Solar Class U.S.S. Endeavour NCV-82893-A. I am still somewhat in awe of its size and complexity, but I'm sure that with the ship this crew can be the best in the quadrant. We are docked at space station Deep Space Nine to rendezvous with various crew members and supplies. Hopefully Admiral Sisko will make an appearance shortly. Ever since I read about his missions in the Academy, I have so longed to finally meet him in the flesh. Apparently he had been spending much of the last century with this prophets in the wormhole. But, back in 2458, the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-G had been travelling to the Gamma quadrant on a routine mission to one of our colonies there. Suddenly, without word or any sign at all, Benjamin Sisko just appeared on the bridge, much to the amazement of Captain Riker. Of course, not the now retired Colonel William T. Riker, but his son, James. Capt Riker looked very surprised when Sisko appeared. And I was lucky enough to be the first offer and to witness the event. I had been offered many commands before now. I was regarded as the finest first officer in the fleet. But I had requested the best first officer for this assignment. Commander Data. Recently pulled out of assignment at Sector 311, he reinstated his Starfleet commission, and agreed to join me on the U.S.S. Endeavour. What an honour to be serving with such a wonderful guy! Anyway, better not get carried away. I am his superior officer after all! I think its time to go and find my crew..... "
