The Infernal Devices and all the characters here belong to Cassandra Clare.
You exit your last class fur the day. Someone walks up to you. You turn and see it is a boy who you've noticed in a few of your classes.
"Hello," he says, brushing his dark hair out of his eyes and giving you a confident smile. You blink.
"Um, hello. Uh, your name is Will, right?" you respond, with a bit of confusion.
"That's all?" you tilt your head slightly. "Most women swoon when I speak to them." You can't help but smile a bit. "But yes, I'm Will. And you're Tessa." You nod. Little do you know that was the beginning of a wonderful friendship.
You're at the bookshop you work at part time. It's getting late and you'll be closing soon, so there isn't much business. You talk with your co-worker, Sophie, when a young man, about your age comes in. He has brown hair with a few odd silvery streaks in it. He looks a bit confused.
"Do you need any help?" you ask him. He opens his mouth when Will comes into the shop. You two had been spending almost every evening after work studying together in the shop. He comes up to you and puts his arm around the young man.
"Hi, Tessa! I want you to meet my friend, Jem," he says, smiling at you both. "He's been my friend since high school, but went touring with some orchestra around England. He's pretty amazing at violin." Jem smiles bashfully. "He's staying in London fur a while to work on writing his own music!"
"Nice to meet you, Jem," you smile at him. "I'm Tessa."
It's a typical Friday night. You, Jem, and Will were hanging out in the bookshop. Sophie decided to stay and read with you. Will convinces Jem to play one of the songs he is writing. Suddenly, there's a knock on the door.
It's the girl who owns the boutique next door, a young woman named Jessie. She announces she couldn't concentrate with the music playing. You invite her in to hang out with they rest of you. She accepts your invitation nonchalantly, but you can tell she's grateful.
You smile, happy to be surrounded by your best friends.
