Life of a Vampire
Chapter 1 - School Drama
Diana Williams, 15 years old, 9th grade and yet so sexy most of the guys at the high school would murder for her: This is how everyone would describe me, she thought. She grabbed her bag and got ready for school. It was late summer time now, the holidays were over and today was her first day in school again. Diana gave a kiss to her mom and left home, when thinking about dad again. He died in a car accident 10 years ago. When making a trip with his 5 year old daughter, a drunken car driver crashed into them. He was only fast enough to save the girl and gave his life to save hers. What if I wouldn't have asked him to drive by McDonalds? The drunken driver wouldn't have crashed into them and Diana's beloved dad would have been able to watch his daughter grow up.
Diana immediately saw her squad hanging in front of their school and smiled at them. "Oh my god, Diana, you're finally here!", said Caitlin. "Yeah, sorry, I didn't sleep well this night so it took me awhile to get up."
Diana had a very strong headache. Maybe because I only slept for 1 hour, she thought.
The school bell rang. Diana and Caitlin, her best friend, had biology with their favorite teacher now. Mr Parker taught biology and maths but Diana and Caitlin only got biology with him. One year ago Diana and Caitlin had to choose which subjects they want to have in school and with only some exceptions they had every subject together.
"Good morning. Our new topic is 'Brain Cells'. Tell me what you know about them already. Yes, Diana?" - "Neurons, cells that send and receive electro-chemical to and from the brain and nervous system." - "Exactly, now who can tell me what other kind of brain cell we have? Caitlin?" - "Glial cells, they surround neuron cells and support them." - "Right. Now I want you to read the pages 213 to 224 and make notes of them."
The students took out their books and started reading. "Caity, will you come with me? My head dies right now." - "Uh, sure! Why what's wrong?" - "I don't know, I hope it's only the sleep I messed up with. Mr Parker, I got a headache, can I and Caity go outside and take some fresh air?" - "Uhm, sure, is everything okay?" - "Yeah, I just didn't sleep well this night." Mr Parker nodded and suddenly looked very scared. "Diana, your nose is bleeding!" - "W-what?" Diana felt the blood running over her lips, suddenly she felt very very weak, everything got blurred and she fell to the ground. The last thing she heard were screams from Caitlin and Mr Parker.
"Is it gonna hurt, dad?" - "No, Diana, everything will be fine. It's just a little blood, no need to be scared." Diana fell just seconds ago to the ground when trying to ride her new bike. "It's okay, sweety, don't cry. Not every kid can ride their bike at the age of 4." Her dad softly smiled at her and suddenly every pain was gone…
"...na? ...iana?! Diana?!" Her mom cried when trying to wake her. "Everything will be fine, I swear, honey!" And now she cried even more. "What happened mom?" - "...you got knocked out. The doctors think it's a… a… brain tumor!" Diana was shocked, just like her mom. She couldn't believe that, she was never really sick or something and now… and now she had a tumor of the brain.
