A Siren's Song

Caged in the prison of her choosing,
The siren sits confused,
"Is this the cross all sirens bear?"
Upon her own fate she mused,

For many a seaman met his doom,
Falling to the siren's song,
Blind to the damage she has dealt,
The siren kept singing all day long.

Then one day a crushing wave hits her,
She sees the whole truth with her eyes,
Though she had not meant it to be,
She is the cause of their demise.

"Sorry.." she cries "please forgive me..
For all the sorrow i did bring,
I had indeed not intended such..
I only wanted to sing.."

But words meant naught to the deceased
What's done can never be undone..
In remorse, she laments her cursed voice
And rued each song she's ever sung..
