The rusted cemetery gates creaked and squeaked as they opened. Lush, green leaves blew in the wind. Birds and insects everywhere. A beautiful site to see on such a beautiful day.
A chipmunk dashed past. The grass had grown much more than it had in the autumn. It was lovely. It was green and full of life. It brightened up a place which was the polar opposite.
The grass flattened whenever a step was taken. The morning dew making it shine.
Kurt Hummel softly sighed. It was beauty everywhere. Too bad the painful memories flowed through him like a river. But he had to tell her. He had to.
His feet scuffed the ground. Looking down at the ground.
Row J. The row he always was in. Row J.
He kneeled down in front of a beautiful grave. He stroked his finger across the name engraved.
Elizabeth Marie Hummel.
He placed beautiful marigolds in front of the grave. Also a card. A beautiful handwritten, hand drawn card.
"Marigolds," He sighed, "Your favorite."
Kurt inhaled the clear spring air into his lungs. His brunette locks blew in the wind.
"Mom," He whispered, "I-I'm happy. Can you believe it? I'm happy." He smiled, "I...um...I met someone..."
Kurt's smile brightened as he spoke those words. His beautiful eyes sparkled.
"I think you'd really like him. He's sweet...amazing...he's kind and handsome. Just like the princes from those fairytales you used to read to me." Kurt managed to choke out. Tears began to form in his eyes.
Footsteps were made behind him. Kurt heard nothing.
"I...I think I love him." He stopped and corrected himself, "No. I know I love him. He just makes me so happy, Mom. I never knew I could be this happy. I'm afraid this is all just a beautiful dream and one day when I wake up everything would be gone."
The footsteps grew closer.
Kurt leaned toward the grave. "I wish you could've met him...he'd love you too..."
"I wish so too." A familiar voice said from behind him.
Kurt turned his head. He looked up. Standing above him was his happiness. His beautiful dream he was so afraid to snap out of.
"B-Blaine!" He gasped, "What are you doing here!"
Blaine leaned down next to his boyfriend. "I...well...er...saw you walk in here and uh...sort of followed you."
"Stalker." Kurt playfully slapped Blaine's arm.
"So?" Blaine asked, "Did you really mean all those things you told her?"
Kurt nodded. "Every single word of it." Tears began running down his cheeks.
Blaine rubbed his thumb under Kurt's eye to wipe away the tear. He then asked, "C-Can I er... Can I meet her?"
"Of...of course." Kurt sniffled. He turned to the grave. "Mom, I would like you to meet someone very special. The boy I told you about."
"Hello, Mrs. Hummel." Blaine told the grave, "Your son is such an amazing person. He's kind and smart and even sassy. Like a prince. A very kind and sassy prince."
Kurt blushed.
"And I love him too." Blaine sighed, "With all my heart." He placed a small peck on Kurt's cheek.
"How can I be sure you aren't just a beautiful dream?" Kurt asked.
"Because," Blaine explained, "If this wasn't reality…..I would never wake up…."
