Author's note: This fan fiction deviates from Doctor Who in that; I ship The Eleventh Doctor and Amy as a couple. I mean, I love Rory, but something about The Doctor and Amy just… Works.
I hope you enjoy the following fanfic, and as always; subscribe and review! :D –K.
Nebula Dust
Chapter One
"So, where to next, Doctor?" Amy inquired as she collapsed into a chair in the console room. "A planet of swimming pools? Or one where the sun's always shining and there's no life except for plants and trees and the odd bird?"
The Doctor looked at his best friend with a grin, wondering where these ideas came from.
"If you're wondering, they're planets I dreamed of as a kid."
The Doctor shook his head.
"Afraid not. One day though. Maybe. Right now though, we are going to see a galaxy! You'll be able to see it all because it's pocket sized! Well. Not really, but it's small enough for you to see it all." The Doctor said quickly, his voice brimming with sheer excitement and his eyes glowing.
Amy smiled brightly at him, as he ran round the console, pressing buttons and yanked of levers. Her fingers dug in to the arm of the chair as the TARDIS whirred to life and dematerialized.
The Doctor glanced over at her, a grin still pulling at his lips.
"Right!" He said, pulling at a few more levers. "Go look outside."
Amy didn't need to be asked twice. She ran to the doors and pulled them open with undiluted enthusiasm and stepped out.
"Oh… Wow." She stared at the nebula, mouth agape and eyes wide.
Planets and stars flew around in a perfect circle. Comets sometimes flew past, leaving a fiery red tail in their midst. In the centre of the circle was a large sphere. It was somewhat similar to the sun, but instead of being a mix of yellows and oranges, it was white. Pure white.
She counted the planets, of which there were 26 and no two were the same. There was a tiny red one and a blue one almost as big as the sphere in the middle of them all.
The Doctor stepped out of the TARDIS to stand beside Amy who was still trying to take it all in.
"Amazing, isn't it?"
Unable to speak, Amy just nodded in response.
"Oh, and er, be careful. Try not to inhale any nebula dust. It's like a hallucinogenic. It'll make you do weird things…"
Amy purposely looked around for the small pockets of nebula dust, a wicked grin on her face. She edged closer to one, and looked at2 The Doctor.
"Have you tried it before, Doctor?" She asked, eyebrow raised.
"Erm. Well, maybe. Once or twice when I was younger." He avoided looking at her while he answered, but glanced at her in time to see her inhaling the dust. She turned and grinned at him.
"Your turn."
The Doctor frowned, but walked towards a passing nebula.
"The things I do for you…" he murmured as he inhaled the hallucinogenic powder.
The effect was almost instant. Bright colours flashed in front of The Doctor's eyes as Amy giggled and made her way, slowly, back to the TARDIS, where instead of going back in, she just leaned on the door, looking at him with wide eyes.
The Doctor followed suit, looking at Amy until her face became a big, red blob. He shook his head.
"In… The… TARDIS… Pond… Please."
Amy continued to look at him, ignoring his request. She stared up at his eyes. They were the same colour as the largest planet of the solar system. Her eyes travelled down his nose, and to his lips. She noticed, not for the first time, how very pink they were and that his bottom lip was slightly larger than his top one.
In less than a heartbeat, her lips were on those very pink ones of his.
The Doctor blinked. "This is an odd sensation," he thought. "I feel like someone is kissing me."
As the effects of the nebula dust began to wear off The Doctor, he realised someone was kissing him. And not just anyone, it was his best friend.
