We walked through the village and Rapunzel was taking everything in. It was honestly quite adorable. She was kinda crazy, naïve, and a little clueless. But on the other hand, she's unique and passionate. If I said her naiveté wasn't somewhat charming, I'd be lying. I watched her explore, trip over her hair…I should probably help with that. I lifted up her hair and smiled at her. The grin I got in response made me melt inside….not that I would ever admit that to her.

It was happening; I was really falling for her. I never thought a girl would cause me to start rethinking my thieving career, but one day with Rapunzel and all I want to do is make her happy…which stealing to eat will never do. Three little girls excitedly braided her hair, which gave me more time to daydream. At another gaze at her features, I realized they reminded me of the mural of the lost princess. I shook my head, realizing that was crazy.

Once the girls finished, Rapunzel grabbed my hand and drug me around. Eventually, she found herself looking at the mural. And that's when I realized, she was most definitely the lost princess. There was no doubt in my mind. For a second, I wondered if this would cause the kingdom to forgive my thievery…then I realized, I only cared because I wanted to spend my life with Rapunzel. I knew if I took her back now, she wouldn't be able to watch the lanterns, so I decided we would complete our day before I returned her to her parents. I still wasn't sure how I'd get to her to come along, but I knew I'd manage. No wonder that creep kept her locked away…. "Eugene!" And that was all I heard until I got pulled into a giant dance in the streets.
