I Cannot Say

I cannot say, "I love you."

I cannot say, "My heart is yours."

I cannot tell you how I live

each day only because

You are there, holding my

hand, calming my fears,

healing my wounds, giving

me a purpose, a reason.

I cannot say, "I need you."

I cannot say, "My soul is yours."

I cannot tell you how I watch

each night when I know

You are sleeping, loving you,

praying that you dream

of my arms around you, your

heart beating with mine.

I cannot say, "I want you."

I cannot say, "My life is yours."

I cannot tell you every hope,

each dream, every breath

You give me, taking me

beyond all fear, doubt

I hide within myself;

You take me to Paradise.

But love me still and

give me your heart, for

I need you in the depths

of my soul, I want you to

always be with me, our

Lives forever entwined.

Narrator here.  Yes, I know, blah, considering my usual literary offering.  I am a romantic, no matter how cynical I might seem in my more humorous writings, and I like it when two people who obviously have feelings for each other get it through their mutually thick skulls to share that information with each other!!!

Inuyasha: Feh!  You made me sound like a pansy!  I would never say something like that to Kagome!

Narrator: How do you know this has anything to do with you?

Inuyasha: Uh…I thought you were supposed to be writing a…poem...*mumble mumble*

Narrator: Say what?

Inuyasha: *mumble*…how I feel about …*mumble*

Narrator: Just spit it out, will ya?

Inuyasha: (PO'ed) ABOUT HOW I FEEL ABOUT KAGOME, OKAY!!  JEEZ, ARE YOU DEAF OR SOMETHING?!

Narrator: No, but I am evil.  *^_^* (points behind him)

Inuyasha: Huh? (turns around) Erk…

Kagome: (teary-eyed) Inuyasha, is that true?  Is that how you really feel about me?

Inuyasha: Uhhhh…

Kagome: WHY COULDN'T YOU SAY SOMETHING ABOUT IT EARLIER INSTEAD OF PUTTING ME THROUGH ALL THAT CRAP WITH KIKYOU?!?! (storms away, muttering about idiot males who wouldn't know emotional honesty if it bit them in the ass)

Inuyasha: *groans* I can't win…
