I just had to. Too much material not to write about it. This isn't intended to be romance, just Will and El friendship. But if you wanted to see it as romance, it could be I guess.
OoOoOo
Cold.
Will was freezing, his skin as white snow and his body trembling violently. It was dark, so dark that he could barely see the structure around him. Castle Buyers. His one safe place away from everyone else. Coming here had been his only option, the only thing he could think of to get away from the monster. He could feel his body giving out on him; malnourishment due to not having access to enough food and his body temperature dropping.
He was desperate to see someone familiar, someone to give him hope. His mom, Jonathan, Mike, anybody. He just didn't want to be alone. But he was alone, all by himself in an empty void. Most of that hope, however, had been squashed when his mother could no longer hear him through the wall. There was no other way to make contact with that world.
Will could feel himself slipping away with his hope. He was about to give in, to accept the fact that he was alone, that no one was coming for them. His eyes began to flutter close, a sign of him accepting his fate when he heard it.
"Will?"
Will forced his eyes open and came face-to-face with a pair of wide, honey colored eyes. Focusing just on the face, he noticed that it belonged to a girl. A very pretty girl, he was aware. Her hair was buzzed and she was in a dirty light pink dress and an over sized blue jacket he recognized as Mike's. She gently grabbed his hand and he was aware of just how warm she was.
Relief flooded over the girl's face. "Will," she whispered.
Her being there seemed to light up everything around him, including this horrible, dark world. "Your mom," the girl continued. "she's coming for you. Just hold on." And with that, he felt the hope swell back up in his chest. This strange, soft-spoken girl had given him hope with just a few simple words. When he was about to give up, she had given something to fight for. His mom was looking for him, and he knew she would find him.
Will managed to smile slightly, even as the girl began to fade away while screeching his name. This girl, this wonderful girl who he didn't even know the name of, had saved him.
She was the small flicker of light he managed to hold onto in the darkness.
