Shiki stared at the red stain spreading slowly across the pale surface, a rare flash of emotion gracing his perfect face as he grinned excitedly. His fangs emerged and he licked his lips in anticipation.
'This is always the best part' he thought to himself as he pulled the knife away, its shine marred by splotches of colour that mirrored his hair.
He brought the knife to his mouth and ran his tongue slowly up its length, relishing the sweetness that exploded on his tongue. Shiki fell to a state of sensory overload as he dropped the knife and raised his prize gently to his mouth, cradling it in his hands. His lips parted and he bared his teeth, his eyes flaring open, bright blue in the darkness before closing in the sheer ecstasy of the moment. He dug his teeth in deep and shuddered happily.
Rima made amazing jam.
The light flashed on and Shiki's eyes shot open. Kaname stood in the doorway to the kitchen, his body tense and his face anxious. His eyes roamed the room and he relaxed visibly as he took in the sight;
Shiki standing next to an almost empty pot of raspberry jam, a dripping sandwich clutched in his hand.
"What?" Shiki asked placidly, staring at Kaname.
"Nothing... Ruka just came to my room saying that she could hear strange noises coming from downstairs, but it's obviously... nothing." Kaname said, dropping back into cool-dude mode as soon as realised that there was no need for panic.
"Ok." Shiki replied his attention now completely on the delicious sandwich in his clutches again.
Kaname watched him for a second before shaking his head and walking away. "I personally prefer strawberry." He muttered as he strolled away, hands in pockets.
"And that my friend is why you are strange." Came the suddenly animated shout from behind him. Kaname just sighed and continued down the hall to his awaiting pot of strawberry jam.
