A/N: Trying GoGo's point of view this time around. :)
She's seriously starting to consider carrying around a stepstool.
Except that would be beneath her dignity—which is funny, because being beneath the book she needs right now is her problem. Frustrated, GoGo surveys the room, chewing her gum furiously. The kindly old librarian would probably have a heart attack if she knew GoGo was chewing gum while in the stacks, but what she doesn't know won't kill her.
GoGo turns back to the bookshelf, resigning herself to the fact that she's going to have to hunt for a stepstool after all. Inconvenient, but.
But then she hears someone say her name. "GoGo?"
Tadashi Hamada stops mid-stride, backtracking and heading down the aisle toward her.
This is only their third meeting, but already GoGo has determined that Tadashi is one of those people—the kind who exude an aura of friendliness and fascination. And he's talkative. Granted, his thoughts don't careen in three different directions at fifty miles an hour like Honey Lemon, but to GoGo, any kind of small talk is unnecessary.
Not that she has anything against other people talking. And, objectively speaking, Tadashi Hamada is kind of cute, if a bit dorky.
"What are you doing here?"
In answer, GoGo points up.
"Advances in Industrial Design Engineering," reads Tadashi. "Looks like pretty heavy stuff."
"I wouldn't know, seeing as I'm not physically holding a copy," answers GoGo, raising an eyebrow.
Tadashi takes in the situation, eyes tracing from the top of GoGo's head to the top of the book. "Right."
GoGo rolls her eyes and purses her lips, blowing another bubble and deflating it with a loud pop! Back to the mission: retrieve stepstool.
Except suddenly there is a very warm presence behind her and Tadashi's arm is extending into her line of vision as he reaches for the book. It takes all of GoGo's concentration to remain still and resist elbowing him in the gut. She chews her gum faster instead, all the while thinking: what.
Five seconds pass and then Tadashi has stepped to the side, holding the book out to her. "Here," he says matter-of-factly, completely oblivious to his total infringement upon her personal space.
"Thanks," GoGo replies, brushing some of the dust off the cover. It comes out unimpressed and a bit sarcastic, but GoGo shrugs it off. She's found that people either get used to it or are turned off by it, and she's kind of curious to see which box Tadashi falls into. Stepping around him, GoGo heads toward the checkout.
"See you around!" Tadashi calls after her. From somewhere deeper in the room, another person shushes him: "We're in a library!"
GoGo examines the cover of the book again and rolls her eyes.
This boy is going to be a problem.
