I sat in the drive, crying. The rain mixed in with my tears, so someone would have to be very close (Or a vampire like my ex-boyfriend) to see the redness in my eyes. I pulled my knees closer to my chest. I felt a presence behind me.
"Who are you and what do you want?" I choked out through my tears.
"Bella, I know you are pretty torn up over this. Truthfully, I am too. Rosalie was my mate. I miss her like you miss Edward."
This brought on another wave of pain. I hugged my knees closer into my chest, trying to hold in sobs that threatened to take over and kill my body. Emmett put his arm around me, and pulled me close to him. I must not have noticed him sit down.
I buried my face into his shoulder. He knew how I felt; he was feeling it right now. I cried harder. He pulled me onto his lap, and gently petted my hair, whispering comforts into my ear. Keeping me in his lap, he pulled off his sweatshirt and pulled it over my head. He pulled his hood over my head. I inhaled. He smelt like freshly mowed grass and honeysuckle, two of my absolute favorite smells.
"I'm s-so sad." I stuttered. He pulled me so I was cradled in his arms. I realized how vulnerable I looked, so I tried to pull myself out of his arms, but he held me firm. I looked away from him.
"Bella, look at me." He said. I stared into his eyes. His warm eyes, so often filled with laughter, now hard yet with an air of compassion and caring. I scanned his face.
He was handsome, like Edward -him, as I had now come to say, but more manly. The planes of his cheeks were hard, yet playful. And his lips were amazing. I wanted nothing more than to kiss him then and there.
"Bella, I want you to know that I will not hurt you. I have seen this coming, just from the way that they have looked at each other." I believed him. He will not play me, string me along like Jacob did, use my weakness to get what he wanted.
"Promise?" I held out a pinky. He wrapped his around it.
"Promise." He leaned down, and his lips met mine.
The kiss was salty, as any other rain and tear infused one would. But this was different. Electricity coursed through my veins where my skin touched his. I tangled my hands into his hair. I could feel his hands running up my back, their coldness leaving a wave of warmth in their wake. As soon as it had come it had ended. I looked up into his golden honey eyes. They were once again happy, as if the item he was holding in his arms meant everything to him.
"Bella." He breathed.
"Emmett." I whispered back.
He smiled at me. I smiled back, pulling him down for another kiss.
Fine.
