Fall of the Hunters
Just when I thought my day couldn't get any worse a giant red dragon breaks through my ceiling. For the past few weeks The Stronghold of Merias has been under a constant siege. At first it was one or two dragons nothing the hunters couldn't handle but as days wore on it got worse. Our leader Darek SkullBearer after single handedly fighting six dragons fell after decapitating three crippling two and blinding the last.
The dragons since the start of the great exile of the Lazariknethin the race of murderous lizard men have been a constant threat to the survival of man. Many think that the Lazarikenethin as punishment for their exile sent their close relatives the dragons to torment us. However I disagree the dragons had been slowly forcing their way to the lands known as Farestin Mountain Range the birthplace of man and my race the elves due to its plentiful valleys and beautiful forests and not to mention the most secluded mountains known to man. The dragons had never before been so aggressive many took it as the dragons hunting but I felt something was wrong. Nobody listened they shrugged my warnings and called me an elven fool. They all unfortunately paid the ultimate price.
Now I am here un armed facing a dragon with blood covering its snout. Now you might think that i would think were I went wrong in my life to end up in this position? Well actually I was too busy taking in the details of a dragon up close for the first time. The dragon was seven feet tall and about eleven feet long with a five foot wide body.
Its long snout came to an end with two pointed tips with holes to smell its prey. Then the part that was meant to EAT the prey. The dragons mouth had two rows of razor-sharp 6 inch teeth one row on top the other on the bottom. Its wings were folded covering its brilliant red body with enormous red bat-like wings. And its eyes its beautiful red pupiled eyes were huge and looked as if he was doing as I was to him sizing him up examining him was fascinating but there was one problem. I was his prey suddenly the dragon stops examining and opens his jaw and I see what most see when the die...rising flames. I cover my face with my hand expecting death but when the torrent of of flames burst from the dragons mouth the flames didn't touch me they didn't go around me but the flames instead flew into my palm and when the dragon could breath no more fire it looked at me and his beauteous eyes widened he then using his four legs climbed forward grabbed me with his front two claws and took flight.
Now i'm thinking this is not normal considering dragons don't take prisoners I was extremely confused.
Little did I know my life was going to change.
