His name was Axl.
And he was my friend.
He used to always be around. His gentle laugh caressing any conversation, his antics always bringing a chuckle from even the most hardened officers.
And now he's gone.
Gone.
They're all gone. I'm the only one left, on the edge of the world. Just me and myself.
Just me.
I told Axl it was a foolish plan. But he just laughed it off. We'll get 'em, he said. I know we will. The fool… He rushed into the battle, hoping to stall the enemy in time for the plan to work. But he failed… Omega was too fast.
Too fast for any of us.
I remember, being on the battlefield, chaos erupting all around me. Holding him in my arms as he died.
Someone once said Reploids can't cry. They were wrong. Reploids can cry.
I can testify to that.
So now it's just me, on the edge of the world.
Just me and myself.
Yet as I look out and see the setting sun, I remember, and I cry.
His name was Axl.
And he was my friend.
