HELLO I'm back with a edit of the original first chapter. I will probably only edit the chapters and not post any new ones. Sorry.
Natsu stood at the front door nervously, hand hovering over the door. I am going to end this; I've found someone else.
He balled his hand into a fist and knocked.
Bullets of sweat started to form as Lucy opened the door. Her blonde hair framed her face perfectly. Natsu just wanted to kiss those plump, pink lips senseless and fall deep into those warm chocolate eyes. He shook his head to get rid of the intoxicating thoughts.
I came to leave her not kiss her.
As she saw Natsu, her face brightened up, and Lucy opened the door wide enough for him to slip in. Something inside him was telling Natsu that this was going to be the last time he will see her so animated and joyful. Despite the warnings, he continued with his goals.
I can do this. I found another girl who will make me just as happy.
Yeah, until you grow bored of her and move on to the next contestant, a distant voice in his head says.
Natsu refuses to pay attention to the words and continues what he was going to do.
"Would you like some tea?" A warm voice asked, breaking him out of his thoughts.
Natsu shakes his head.
"No, thanks. Actually, Lucy, I came here to tell you something..." Natsu says as his eyes wander around, and his voice trails off.
Lucy smiles and sits down in a pink, fluffy chair. Natsu sits in the big chair in front of her.
"Listen... I know it's been a year since we've been dating," he says, quirking an eyebrow at her. She nods, and Natsu continues, "but, now, I don't really feel that spark we had when we first kissed, so…" he trails off.
Lucy stopped shifting in her chair, fear slowly easing into her features.
"I want to break up with you," he finishes quickly.
She stays still for a few moments; as if the words Natsu has said paralyzed her. Her eyes grew wide, a few tears forming from her big brown eyes trickling down her cheek. Lucy bit her quivering lips, hands clutching desperately at her mini skirt. It was clear that she was about to cry, her head hanging low and her blonde bangs covering wet eyes. Natsu couldn't find the beautiful face he dearly wished to see.
"Okay…" She trembled, hands a shaking mess. "I hope whoever you choose makes you happy. She's lucky to have captured your heart; I'm happy for you," Lucy's voice cracked.
With a meek excuse, she got up and left to the bathroom.
Natsu sighed. After two minutes of waiting, he stood and headed out the door.
Lucy sat on the bathroom floor waiting to hear the door close. After a few minutes, she hears him sigh and leave. When the door thudded closed, everything became silent, and the air was filled with melancholy.
She let out a bitter laugh. It was from her experience that when things went right, everything would eventually crumble and break; He would've left me sooner or later. I knew it, but now is such a bad time. It's the anniversary of my father's death for goodness' sake! Now, this felt like the last straw. I wanted to end it; there was nothing left for me anymore.
Lucy's mind kept telling her the opposite of her heart. One was telling her to give up, and the other was urging her to persevere; that people who give up are weak. She didn't want to be weak; Lucy wanted to be strong.
She felt a strong burst of sorrow pierce through her when she thought about him. His joyful face, strawberry pink hair, and beautiful, soft eyes. The celestial mage let all the tears flow free not being able to find enough energy to hold them back.
Tears rolled down her cheeks and splattered silently against the floor. Lucy allowed all the happy and sad memories to flow through her mind.
Her despair felt endless; as if she could cry for eternity. Images of her mother, father, and everyone Lucy had ever loved kept appearing in her mind. Her heart squeezed painfully.
Natsu…
"Natsu!" She cried out.
His name made her fill with rage and sadness simultaneously
After what felt like hours of crying, she sat there staring into space. Suddenly, her world began to darken and blur. As she fell, the cold tiles relieved the heat from her face.
