So this is a challenge fic set to me by Miss Caroline Potter. I was given the character Percy Weasley and the prompt hat and this what my little plot bunnies gave me.

I glanced over at the girl that was stood at me. I was nervous. "Things will be alright Percy," She smiled at me grabbing my hand. I don't know why she's done it but it was nice and it made me feel not as nervous.

"Thank you, Penelope" I smiled back her and then glanced toward the Gryffindor table for more security. I knew that that the complete sense of security i needed would come from seeing my two older brother's sat there at the Gryffindor table. I knew that since my surname was Weasley I would have to wait until the end before it was my turn to go up and get sorted.

Part of me wondered why I was even standing there because I knew that I was going to be sorted into Gryffindor no matter what. Going back for generations and generations my family had been in Gryffindor and I was probably not going to have that even though my younger brother's had been saying I would probably be a disgrace and get sorted into Ravenclaw.

As the time passed on the group I was in got smaller and smaller. With the way the group getting smaller and smaller I was the last person to be sorted which I really didn't want to have happen. Though just luck I did end up being the last person.

I looked up to the front when I heard my name being called "Percy Weasley". I took a deep breathe and slowly up to the front and up the steps.

Once up those shot steps I took a seat on the seat and let the hall fall behind my ears when it was placed onto my head. "okay, relax" I whispered to myself while everyone stared at me.

I could hear the hat just probing through my mind into my deep thoughts, feeling and fears. It was making it's choice about me. I kept saying to myself that I didn't think I was good enough to be placed into Gryffindor like my brother's and all my family before me. I let out a sigh of relief when I heard the hat shout out "Gryffindor."

I smiled. I then rushed over to the Gryffindor and sat down at the table with some of the people that i had met on the train journey up there. "Congrats little bro." My oldest brother said putting his hand up for a high five which I gave him. "Told you that you'd make it into Gryffindor."

"Thanks." I smiled at him. I then just proceeded to listen to what it was that Professor Dumbledore had to say much like I would every year until I graduated out of that place. When I was that age I never imagined how the next ten years of my life would play out. I never thought that I would lose one of my siblings. I never thought I would get married to the blonde girl with the bunches that stood next to me in that huddle.
