Lily and Oliver one shot
Lily and Oliver One-ShotAuthors note: James is a made up character :D
Lily sat on her porch swing, tears spilling down her cheeks. She couldn't believe what just happened. It had all happened so quickly, and she had said things that she regretted. She had said A LOT she regretted.
"Lily? Lils, are you okay?"
Lily looked up quickly, even though she knew the voice that had just spoken.
Oliver sat down beside Lily. "Hey, what happened?" he put his arm around her as fresh tears spilled down her cheeks.
"Oh, Oliver, it was horrible. Miley and me…we…oh…it was so horrible…"
Oliver cut her off. "Okay, Lily, slow down. And start from the very beginning," he said softly as he wiped the tears off her face with his thumb.
Lily took a deep breath and began. "Well, James and I had been out for this date, and it had gone well…well, that's what I thought anyway. So he was walking me home and I remembered Miley had borrowed my favourite sweater, you know the…"
"…the blue one with the long sleeves?" Oliver finished her sentence with a soft smile.
Lily smiled up at him. "Yeah, that one. Well, I wanted it to wear around the house, so I asked if we could stop off at Miley's house, and, to be honest, he seemed very pleased to be going to Miley's."
"Why?" Oliver asked, his face scrunched up with confusion.
"Oliver, let me finish the story!"
Oliver chuckled softly. "Sorry. Continue."
"So, we got to Miley's house and she let us in. She told me to go on up, it was lying on her bed…So I run up, find it and run back downstairs, eager to get back to James, as I figured he wouldn't want to stay there much longer. So I got to the end of the stairs, and I could hear Miley and James talking, and I thought to myself, 'aw, isn't that nice, my best friend and my boyfriend getting on.' Little did I know, they were…they were…planning to GET it on!" Fresh tears slid down Lily's face as she sobbed into Oliver's shoulder.
Oliver rubbed her shoulder and tried to calm her down. "Oh, Lily. How could Miley DO this to you? You two are supposed to be best friends…I just can't believe this."
Lily scoffed quietly as she laid her head on Oliver's shoulder. "How do you think I feel? I've fallen out with both of them."
"Well," Oliver smiled weakly, "you've still got me…"
Lily lifted her head and looked into his brown eyes. "Yeah," she said softly.
Oliver looked deep into her bright blue eyes and realised how beautiful she really was. "You can depend on me, Lils."
Lily bit her lip as she searched Oliver's face for answers. Why was she feeling like this, Oliver was her oldest friend, her BEST friend? Suddenly, she couldn't control herself anymore…their faces were inches away. She closed the gap between them as she pressed her lips against his.
Oliver pulled away quickly. She had frightened him. What if this ruined their friendship? But he realised he had been wanting this for so long. He had been wanting this moment. He wanted Lily.
Lily quickly gasped. "Oh my God, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to…I mean, I wasn't trying to…oh God," she quickly stood up. "Umm, I have to go, Ollie. Oh my God," she quickly tried to run into her house but she was stopped by Oliver grabbing her wrist and pulling her back.
They were standing inches away again, and Lilly didn't know what to think.
"Don't think," Oliver whispered, as if reading her mind. "Just, trust me."
They both leaned in and closed the gap between them, before breaking the kiss a while later.
"Wow," Oliver sighed.
"Yeah," Lily smiled up at him.
Oliver frowned for a second. "Wait, what are you going to do about Miley and James?"
Lily grinned. "Who?" she winked.
They both smiled before leaning in again.
This is what I've been waiting for, Lilly thought to herself, this is it.
