I do not own these characters. I received a prompt and it was too good. I cannot just post it but rather also keep it on this site.

I do not have any beta reader for this short story so any of these mistakes are my own. This drabble does not follow the Major Crimes show as in Brenda is still working at DA place in Los Angeles.

Brenda and Andrea sat across from each other in Brenda's office. Andrea dropped in to talk to her. They discussed the case but now, Andrea wanted to discuss something else.

"Brenda, you have to tell Sharon," Andrea encouraged.

"Again? Why are we talking about this, now? She is dating Andy," Brenda whined.

"Well, not anymore."

Brenda stared at Andrea. Andrea nodded. The buzzed heard. They both startled.

"So sorry. This is a new add in thing to my " Brenda scrambled with files to find that button. "This receptionist called me if anything that needed to get to my attention from the down the hall..." She pressed the button. "Yes...Yes...YEeeesss. Well Andrea, I guess she pressed it by mistake...You know, Sharon may be single and I don't think she feels the same about me, especially that I am a woman."

"You never know." Andrea's voice was heard at the lobby. Sharon froze with her eyes widened.

The receptionist, Beth Connell struggle to explain to Brenda to keep her finger off of the button so that D.A. Johnson can hear the receptionist letting her know that Captain Sharon Raydor want to see her. "D.A. Johnson, don't press the button. don't press the button. My apologies...I will go over to knock on D.A. Johnson's door." Sarah Connell shakes her head.

Brenda's voice washed over Sharon. "I love Sharon. It scared me..I never realize how much I love her. I am not sure if I can handle the rejection...What?"

Beth's voice came through muffled sounded like "Don't press the button after you talk. Only press it when you talk through intercom."

"Oh!"

Sharon stood there and she had her hands to her eyes to wipe her tears. Brenda is in love with her. Sharon found herself with warmth. She turned around to see Brenda.

"I guess you heard everything."

"Brenda, I really thought I do not have a chance with you."

"Here goes nothing. How do you feel about a dinner at 6 on Saturday? With me?"

"Well, as you know, I could get called in or stuck working on the cases but I believe I am free." Sharon smiled.

"Okay, great."

Andrea came out with laughter. "Finally! It took the intercom for it to happened."

Author's note: Inspired from Carol Burnett's show skit called "Mrs. Wiggins: The intercom."
