I do not own any Fruits Basket character. Enjoy!
Rin Sohma looked at her wounds as she lay in the bed at Shigure's house. What was wrong with her? Akito had given them to her after she had told him that she and Haru would be together. Akito had not taken it well.
After all, God could not abide by having his playthings taken away. He was like a petulant child, and he had whined before pushing her out of the window. Rin wondered how long it would take before Haru himself found out.
The door burst open. "Are you out of your mind, Rin?" Haru asked, coming to her bedside. Apparently, not long. "You could have been killed."
"I didn't do anything wrong, Haru." She answered, wincing.
"Akito has to realize that the Zodiac can have a life outside him!" She answered with fury. "He can't be God all the time. I love you!"
Haru looked taken aback. "You love me?"
"I sustained these injuries and being tossed out of a window for you." She looked at him. "At least I am not a coward."
"I don't want to lose you, Rin." He whispered, crouching down beside her. "I love you too."
"What are we going to do? Akito can't find out that we are still together." She hugged him.
"You're right." He looked
into her eyes. "I don't want to see what Akito will do if he
finds us still together."
"Maybe if we ran away."
She suggested.
"That would never work and you know it."
"What if..."
"It would never work." Haru turned to the door. "We can only be friends for now. But we will find a way. I swear it." He walked out of the room.
Rin looked at the closed door and began to cry. She realized he was right and hardened herself right then and there. She put on a cold demeanor and hoped that the future would bring her and Haru closer together.
