Many people would snort at the idea of Leon with a woman; especially when he and the woman were linked in a romantic sort of way. That was why when Sora heard the news about Leon and Aerith he choked on his food while Yuffie helpfully thumped him rather roughly on the back. It was a complete wonder how these two completely different individuals could ever fall in love.
She was the woman loved by everyone; he was the man everyone tried to get out of the way of.
She was outgoing and friendly; he kept to himself most of the time.
She would always be the first to attend social gatherings; he would always be the first to try and find an excuse not to go.
In a nutshell, they were as different as day and night.
But how did these two got romantically involved? It all began when…
The marketplace
in Radiant Garden was beautifully decorated. Since the committee has
finished up restoring Radiant Garden to its past splendor, the
townsfolk decided to have a party to celebrate the committee members'
excellent job. A buffet table (with food with unlimited supply
thanks to Merlin's magic) was set up and rows of tables and chairs
surrounded the marketplace. Delicate fairy lights fluttered around
the area, illuminating a soft glow upon anyone and anything. A slow,
romantic instrumental song was playing in the background. People
were dancing; surrounding the dance floor in the middle of the
marketplace. Cloud held Tifa close to him, both dancing in their own
world to their own tune. Yuffie was trying not to giggle as she tried
to dance with Sora; his feet always stepping on one another. Cid was
dancing with a rather curvy blond-haired woman, a toothpick replacing
his usual cigarette in his mouth. Other random couples were dancing;
enjoying the ambiance. But there were two people who weren't
dancing. The pink-clad flower girl approached the stoic
warrior, innocence shining from those bright green eyes. "You're
not dancing?" she asked, gesturing to the dance floor. He
shook his head, folding his arms. "How about you?" "Oh,
I couldn't find anyone to become my dance partner…" For
a while they both stood there in awkward silence. "Say…
Leon?" "No, I'm not dancing with you." Aerith
crossed her arms across her chest; pouting. "Aw, why
not?" "Because…" "Because of what,
Leon?" "You'll laugh at me." "No I
won't." "Promise?" She nodded. He took a deep
breath. "I can't dance." She stared at him with
wide eyes. "You can't?!" He shook his head and a
sheepish grin was soon forming on his face. She smiled at him.
"Well, that's nothing to be ashamed of. I can teach you, if you
want." "No thanks." "You need to learn how to
live a little, Leon. You're always so… serious." "I
like me the way I am." "C'mon Leon… please?" She
smiled hopefully at him and he can't help but to sigh at
her. "Okay, fine, but only one dance." "It's a
deal."
Yin and yang.
That's how most people would describe the couple. Aerith completed Leon as much as Leon completed Aerith. Both were complete opposites of each other but yet, both would be incomplete without each other.
It's funny what love can do; bringing two individuals together to create an unbreakable bond.
Such is the power of love.
END.
