The Kingdom of Hyrule, a place populated largely by elves that call themselves Hyrulians. It's other inhabitants include Zorans, Kokiri, Gorons, and Scrubs; each living in a vastly different environment. Not many Humans from the other Kingdoms come here, however there are some travelers that pass through Hyrule, wanting to become the best at their trade, whatever it may be.
Hyrule Castle sat on top of a hill, erected by Geomancers loyal to the government. To ensure proper protection from the rear, all sides of the hill were unnaturally steep. The only traversable path connected the castle to the city called Hyrule Metropolis, a large town that was built at the base of the castle. The Metropolis itself had expanded since the Dark Age ended, covering most of the open land that lie south of the city, adding a south entrance to the city, a much less used gate.
The West entrance was the only gate that entered the city during the Dark Age, the east gate was demolished in Gannon's rampage, and so the west road had many Inns and shops set up along it, making it a much more favorable way into the city than the South Gate. The South gate leads into the slums of Hyrule, people less fortunate or people who loved to gamble their Ruppees away.
A great wall surrounded this Metropolis, walls standing at least twenty feet high with guards patrolling the precipices. And along the South Road to Hyrule Castle, a single woman walked to the Metropolis, sunlight gleaming off her shiny armor. Her golden hair was up in a decorative bun and a large great sword was sheathed on her back, and a long sword was sheathed on her right hip. The guards atop the wall stared at her strangely as she approached the two guards at the gate.
"Hail traveler!" One of them said, he was clad in chainmail with a spear in one hand and a shield in the other. Hyrule's symbol branded on everything he wore, an eagle with the Tri-force floating above its head. She said nothing in return as she approached them. From this distance, the guards could tell that she was Human, and that she had green eyes. "What is your purpose in Hyrule?"
The woman scoffed. "As I've heard, the West Gate doesn't ask this question." Her tone was harsh, but her voice was smooth like silk.
The guard looked over his shoulder at his matching companion. "That's true, but no one has any business on this side of the city, ma'am."
The woman's expression turned irritated. "I've had no horse to ride and no water to drink. I didn't need to walk all the way around to the West Entrance to find an inn that can give me a bed and some food."
The guard nods. "Sorry for the trouble miss, just routine." He walked over to the wall and yelled, "Open the Gate!" A moment passed before a loud clicking sound erupted through the silence and the large door opened, leading to an area with dirt and houses made of wood and stone instead of bricks. Hobbles with leather draped over them for roof tops, to poor to actually afford a roof on their home.
